Gold Leaf

I wear blue the most of all colours and really had to go through my draft posts to find a mani that wasn't blue just so there is something a little different on my posts and came up with this stunner!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Polished for Days Champagne Pop, no top coat. This is just a really cool polish; the gold shimmer pops to me!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Lina Make Your Mark 08 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Fall Like Vibes!

I thought this would make an interesting and not typical base for a fall mani; here's what I came up with!

Back to Fall Nails!

Back to fall nails!

These were one of the first fall nails I did this year; not typical fall nails but that's OK: I don't always do typical nails regardless of whatever the season/holiday, etc.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Cirque Polish Majolica, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 35 using an image from Lina Make Your Mark 08.  Weirdest thing about this stamping polish; it would not, and I mean not, stick to the clear jelly stamper!  No matter which type of clear one I tried, the stamping polish would not stick! So I had to revert to an old school opaque one.  Which was OK but I did want to do shadow stamping but turned out OK anyway.  Never had that happen before; I don't know if it was because there was something about the formula with the stamping polish or I don't know what. And it was weird as it didn't matter which brand of clear stamper it was either.  I hope it's not a regular occurrence, though.

Prelude to Fall Nails!

With the official arrival of fall right around the corner, I've started to think about sharing a few more fall nails.  If only I didn't still have summer nails to share lol.  I guess they will wait and I'll share them in the cold of winter to remind us that summer is around the corner...or to brighten a day during a snow storm.  We'll see; they'll get shared eventually!

Anyway, these are my prelude to fall nails.  Not really fall but close enough to make them fall appropriate!  I had picked up some polishes from Winners one day recently and thought I'd try them out and this mani was born.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Lakur Silver Birch, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After it had dried for 15 minutes or so, did a sponged gradient using same base polish and Lakur Save The Queen.  I don't know what others do for sponged gradients, but I always top coat the base and wait now; have for some time now.  I used to wait just for the base to dry, but I found that sometimes the sponge would start taking polish off the nail instead of on it so find this works better for me.  I tried different polishes, different sponges; kept on having the same issue.  Don't have this problem when I top coat it first!

Topped with KBShimmer Cleary on Top.  I touched the middle finger with the sponge but knew I was going to stamp on top of it so left it.

Using China Glaze GR8, stamped using an image from Lina Make Your Mark 08.  I like that you can actually see the holo in these pix.

Shadow stamped using same image using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

I didn't shadow stamp the thumb that well though.  But to fix it would have been redoing the whole nail and as I did these nails around 11:30 pm and was getting tired, I decided to live with it.  It could only really been seen with these magnified pictures anyway.  It was the first name I did and although the shadow stamping aren't overly tight on the rest, I did get a little better lol.  I can live with it anyway!

Blue Skittles

When you don't know what you wear on your nails, you just pick a bunch of polishes and hope for the best!  That's what this skittle mani is; I couldn't pick which blue to wear on my nails and while I initially was going for a skittle gradient, these polishes aren't quite a gradient.  What I did find out though, was most of these I hadn't worn before and now that I have, I discovered I really liked a couple of them!  Sometimes, picking the polishes are as random as this!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Too Fancy skittles; starting at thumb and going clockwise:  Royal Jeans, Set Fire to the Rain, Bejeweled, Moody Blue and Lake Como, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Lina Make Your Mark 08 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Boo!!

Boo!

It's scary to think Halloween is tomorrow and I've only posted a couple Halloween mani's!  I finally got my computer situation sorted out to do some posts; now if only I had more time to do some posts!  I hope to post today and tomorrow and, well, the rest of the mani's I did will have to hold over until next year! Hopefully I'll do better next year!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with three coats of China Glaze Shadies & Gentlemen, no top coat.  I was in love when I seen swatches of the polish; I loved the super matte look of it and was so excited when I found it!  That was until I applied it; what a PITA streaky mess and way more finicky than I like in a bottle of polish.  I was even thinking I needed a back up but I think myself I will stick to regular black with a good couple coats of matte to get same effect.  I seem to recall that it was best to apply directly on the nail but that goes against my need to apply a base coat grain of thinking even if it gets best application results.

Stamped using MoYou Festive 16 using MdU 1 with an accent of Lina Make Your Mark 08.

Lina Make Your Mark 08.

You know my love of busy and my love of adding dots when I can so added dots using MdU 107 for filler and burst of colour.

I wasn't sure if I like it better glossy with top coat or matte so added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  (Also had to top coat to seal the polish so I wouldn't have any flaking off.)

But ultimately I liked the matte look best so added a coat of matte which is how I wore it out and about!
