Digit-al Dozen Does Futuristic; Day 2

For Day 2 of the Digit-al Dozen Futuristic theme, I did galaxy nails with someone floating out in space, as in maybe in the future, we might to go space for the weekend like we go to the cottage for the weekend!   Wouldn't that be cool???!!

Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Star Gazer 305; this is three coats.  While it is beautiful, it was still patchy and oh, the tips; I couldn't get polish to stick to them no matter what!  I didn't worry too much about it as I knew I'd be sponging and would make sure they got covered.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

For my attempt at galaxy nails, sponged on Pahlish Boo-Ya!

Then sponged on Nails Inc. Regents Place, then a little FunkyFingers Gesso here and there.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made a stamper decal using an image from Creative Shop 29.

After cutting out the stars, applied to thumb.

Then stamped using my most favourite star image from the same plate, Creative Shop 29.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Not Your Typical Combination...But I Like It!

You don't see these colours together too often (I do recall FingersPolishMania posting this combination on IG this week though!) but I really liked how this turned out!  Occasionally at Halloween, I suppose.   But this is what came of two polish orders arriving in the same week and the need to try them both out at once! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats each of Girly Bits Astoria with an accent of Different Dimension Olive Me Loves Olive You.  Silly me, I had initially passed on GB Astoria when it was first released as well as the December monthly release of Grandma Got Run Over By A John Deere...but an extension to buy it and the regret of seeing all the swatches of Astoria made be hit buy now!

After I had top coated, I was cleaning up my nail station to prep for stamping and went to pick up a bottle of polish that I had tested to see if it would stamp over GB Astoria but I guess I forgot to close it.  So then I hit it, knocked it over and then did this when I was trying to save it from spilling.

So after fixing up a couple of the nails by redoing them, I added stamping using FunkyFingers Gesso using an image from Creative Shop 29.

Added a couple accent studs for interest.

I was on the fence to leave it like it was as I did like how it looked, but ultimately decided to add a few dots for interest using the olive polish

Topped it off with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This mani should have been quick and easy but took a little bit longer because of the oops, but I do like how it turned out!  I like how they are a little different than typical nails and that's not a bad thing to me every now and again!

Hope you're having a good weekend; thanks for looking!

Picture Polish Meow

Sorry to come off like a broken record, but this is another mani that was done when I didn't have a lot of time so went with an interesting base and a cool image for some pretty awesome nails (to me anyway!)

Started with two coats of piCture pOlish Meow.  I just love these piCture pOlish scattered holo polishes! With the add of the flecks, it is just enough of a little umph to give the base a little interest...and they remove like a dream!  I'm on a mission to own all the shades!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using FunkyFingers Gesso using an image from Creative Shop 29.  This is the perfect image for some galaxy nails!  While I've changed things up a bit on each nail, I also think that it would be pretty cool to pick one area of the image and stamp it on all the nails.  But which area????  I like the thumb, the middle, the ring, the index....and doesn't the stamping star bursts look like those borders/inserts put on pix?

Digit-al Dozen Does Decades; Day 2

Ziggy played guitarrrrrr!!!!!

I sang hummed this line mani times while painting my nails for Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen does decades!  When googling the 70's for this challenge, David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust images came up quite often.  Then, David Bowie was trending on FB this weekend on what would have been his birthday (January 8th; same as Elvis!) and today being the anniversary of his death, I knew that a David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust mani was in order!  I didn't do it in the colours of the era but more so kinda like a galaxy background to go with the whole extraterrestrial persona (not very successfully!); here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Opal Lagoon, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After letting my nails dry for about 15 minutes, sponged on Beyond Polish Peony, Dare to Wear Butterflies, FingerPaints Be Still My Beatnik He-Art and OPI Suzi Without a Paddle.  Dabbed a little Parrot Polish White Gold here and there for some sparkle interest.

Topped with KbShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made a couple Ziggy Stardust stamper decals using an image from Creative Shop 29; they are both shrunk using the UC Luxe stamper; the one on the left was shrunk twice; the one of the right, once.  Filled them in with silver metallic acrylic paint. Because I didn't want black stars, I used pure acetone and removed them off the stamper head.

I used the double shrunk image on my largest nail and it still barely fit!  After placing it, I added stars from the same image with a clear stamper for placement.  The rest of the images are from MoYou Roxy Collection-09 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

The placement of this image is a little awkward as I had to place it on the diagonal to fit and I don't think he's that obvious in all the shots but he is kinda cool so here's a solo pix!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 2 decades mani's!

P.S:  For all those David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust aficianados, I know enough about Ziggy Stardust that the thumb may not be accurate so have taken some space artistic liberties here for interest!
