Cringe Worthy

I'm going through archived nails for posts while I think these turned out OK, I know I didn't post them because I didn't think they were post worthy due to the cleanup.  I can't believe there was so much polish left at the edge....even with latex barrier!  Please overlook this as you see what I came up with!

Lina Mad for Mandelas 01

After applying a base of Fancy Gloss Neon Yellow, did a radial sponged gradient using Fancy Gloss Neon Yellow, Neon Orange and Tomato Soup.

After (not so great) cleanup, stamped using Lina Mad for Mandelas 01 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  I have since changed my sponged method as I always apply the lightest of the polishes then apply the top coat and let it dry as I find when this is done, the polish doesn't come off the nail, versus on it, which sometimes happens when there is a lot of polish saturation with sponging.  You can see it happen on these nails too, which is why I do it differently now.

Gradient Burst

I did this radial gradient after not having done one for quite a long time and was really happy how it turned out.  It was too bad that the radial gradient wasn't more obvious once the stamping was added or that the stamping wasn't more centered but all in all, I wasn't mad about them.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI Pink-ing of You, two coats.

Added a coat of topcoat and waited about 10 minutes for it to dry.  I always topcoat the basecoat of my gradients as I find otherwise, the base sometimes gets sponged off and that's no good, so always take this time for the topcoat to dry before sponging.

Did a radial sponged gradient using OPI Pink-ing of You and Morgan Taylor Shock Therapy.

The gradient really popped when it was topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic UC 29-03 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I did a pretty good job of centering the stamping on the thumb and because the burst was centered, could see the radient gradient better.

I did a better job of stamping on Ms. Cindy; please excuse the cuticles!

Digit-al Dozen Does Stamping; Day 2

I wore these a couple weekends ago; a bright pick me up to a dreary day!  A radial gradient for day 2 of Digit-al Dozen stamping week.

I initially was going to water marble so picked out some Pipe Dream polishes to use.  THEN I remembered I have absolutely no water marble skills so decided on a radial gradient base instead.  Used Pipe Dream Polish Light of Day, Happy Hour and All In.

Digit-al Dozen Does Birthday's: April 2017

Today, we are celebrating Digit-al Dozen birthdays for April; this month, Uma at Uma's Nail Art and Katherine Marie at ProcrastiNails both celebrated birthdays; this is the mani I did based on the photo they picked for inspiration.  Happy Birthday, Uma an Katherine Marie!

Inspiration photo.

Started with a base of one coat of Enchanted Polish Opals & Cream.

I thought the iridescent glitters in the Enchanted Opals would give that oil slick kinda look in the bubbles so used them for a radial gradient.  Used Enchanted Opals & Cream, Opal Lagoon, Opal Nectar and Candied Opal.  In hindsight, I wish I had have  done the base a little darker but these polishes are fairly goopy and not that opaque so I had had enough with doing sponging even to get them to this opacity.

They didn't quite give enough of the iridescent look I was going for so added two coats of Colorama Blazes of Crystal.  I probably should have sponged on the flakies but didn't think of it at the time.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping. (Unfortunately, between my hands not being steady enough and so much going on in the polishes, my camera had a hard time focusing so I took a lot of pix and have quite a few to share in my attempt to show how cool this base really was.  It is sooooo much cooler than my pix portray!)

Stamped using an image from Creative Shop 02 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer to finish.

The next morning, I took these pix outside; they show the flakies a little better.

Then added a coat of OPI matte, again, hoping to show the magic of the flakies.

Topped it again with KBShimmer, then headed to work.

While I was sitting in the drive thru at Tim Hortons, I looked down at my nails and thought hmm, the flakies are looking good in this lighting, so grabbed a couple pix while I was waiting.  I think these were the best pix but excuse the awkward hand pose!

Flakiesssssssss!

Uma and Katherine Marie, hope your birthday's were fabulous!

Digit-al Dozen REDOES Art; Day 4

I'm a little bit behind with the Digit-al Dozen challenge but here is day 4 based upon a pix I found on pinterest!  Here's what I came up with!

Inspirational art.

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Tilda, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged radial gradient using Zoya Tilda and Shawn.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Made a stamper decal using an image from OS-03 (and a spare...that I did end up using on Ms. Cindy!)  FYI, used FunkyFingers Dark Knight for decal on the left and Mdu black for one on the right; the difference is very obvious!)

Applied stamper decal.

Stamped rest of the nails using images from MoYou Kitty Collection-15 using MdU black.

Added butterflies using FUN red stamping polish.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.
