Season's Greetings

Merry Christmas!!!  Hopefully you're having a joyous day with family or friends this Christmas Day!  Regardless of what you do, enjoy the company of whomever you are spending it with and safe travels if you have places to go!

These the my favourite nails from all I have done during the holiday season!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Onyx with an accent of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Can't Beet Royalty.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Powder Perfect-Christmas 1 using MdU 106 for stars, then stamped using  an image plate using MdU 48 for trees.

Powder Perfect-Christmas 1.

Added words from same Powder Perfect Christmas 1 on accent using MdU 1.  Then added random snowflakes from Infinity 75 individually.  Yes, that is 27 times.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added snow using KBShimmer White Here, White Now which finished the mani.

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Nail Polish Canada Holiday 2018 Nail Art Contest

Nail Polish Canada is again hosting a Holiday Nail Art Contest!  Here's my entry!  Please go here to vote for me your favourite nail art mani!  You can also use this link to enter your own nail art mani for the contest!  On behalf of all the contestants, thanks for voting!

Started with a base of Zoya Shawn, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Can't Beet Royalty, OPI Onyx.

Topped some nails with Polished For Days Seraphine.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I had made a stamper decal using an image from Marianne Nails n.118; applied it to thumb.

Stamped using Lina 4 Seasons-Winter 02 (pinky and index), UberChic UC Christmas 02 (middle) and Powder Perfect Christmas 1 (doubled stamped on ring).  Dotted holly berries.  Used Mdu 1, 9, 48 and 106. Added China Glaze There's Snow One Like You on ring finger tip.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added words on thumb from Powder Perfect Christmas 1 using MdU 1, then various dots using MdU 1 and 106.  Individually stamped snowflakes on ring finger and thumb with images from Infinity Nails 75 using MdU 1.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Ok.  I was a bit obsessed with my thumb image!  I love how it turned out!

I also thought that this would look kinda vintage like if matte top coat was added (plus bring out the flakies from the Polished for Days), so added a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.  I can't decide if I like it best matte or glossy??!!??

Again, here's the link for the Nail Polish Canada 2018 Nail Art Contest; please make sure you vote for your favourite mani!

Thanks for looking....and for casting your vote!  Thank you as well to Nail Polish Canada for hosting the contest!  Good luck to all!

Digit-al Dozen Does Mythical Creatures; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week and this month's challenge is Mythical Creatures.  When I sat down to do this mani, I knew the image I wanted to use and the plan was that this would be Lock Ness Monster-ish for mythical creatures.  When I actually looked at the image, it was cuter than the pictures I've seen of the Lock Ness Monster but I still wanted to use it so this is more Caribbean Sea Monster than Lock Ness Monster.  But maybe this guy has been seen off the shore of Jamaica or Bahama's, who knows!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI The I's Have It.

Did a sponged gradient using OPI The I's Have It, Morgan Taylor Don't Touch Me, I'm Radioactive and Morgan Taylor Deja Blue.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Made stamper decals using images from Apipila Super Place A.  Image outline is Painted Polish Stamped in Greenery, and filled in with MdU 11 and 13.

Added CND Creative Play Express Ur Em-oceans at the tips to mimic glistening water.

Stamped thumb using Infinity 75 (sun) and Infinity 52 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Stamped on ring using same image from Infinity 52.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Nature; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week again!  This weeks theme is nature!  Here's what I came up with for Day 1!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, two coats (no pix as have shown before).  Stamped the mountain landscape using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using Infinity 58.

Infinity 58

Added a moose on the thumb using Infinity 75; stamping polish used is Mundo de Unas 22.

Using assortment of acrylic paints and a brush, added sky and water on all the nails, then filled in mountain range using a dark green paint.

Using paint brush, added in two more greens to the landscape on the mountains; stamped in a tree on the thumb using MJ VII using Mundo de Unas 7 and 9(I had to keep on touching up the moose on the thumb with brown stamping polish as my brush work was sloppy and I kept on painting over top the antlers, etc.!)

Added bears to the ring ringer using Infinity 75 using Mundo de Unas 22 as well as some grasses to the thumb using same acrylic paints used for the grass on the mountains.  Also stamped on random evergreens on index and pinky with an image from Infinity 75 using Mundo de Unas 7.

Added the sun using Mundo 11 with an image from Infinity 61.  The sun didn't stamp perfectly, but I think it fit in fine with the rustic look of the mani!

Added Canada geese using Funky Fingers Dark Knight from Infinity 61.

Infinity 61

I wasn't too sure how top coat would be on top of the acrylic paints, so made sure I had enough pix of the mani in case it wrecked it!  Turned out, there was no ill effect at all using KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided that matte would be better to see the detail of the nails; added a coat of OPI Matte.

I was so happy how this turned out; I especially love the moose on the thumb...even if my touch ups make him a little different than the first stamping!

Digit-al Dozen Does Winter Wonderland; Day 5

It's Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen Winter Wonderland challenge!  I know I already said this before, but the ladies have been nailing this weeks theme; truly some amazing mani's been shared this week!  Hopefully you've had a chance to check them out!

This is my Day 5 mani; a vintage winter evening ride home to the homestead! (Not sure if this is how is looks but that was the intention!)

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, topped with one coat of Contrary Polish Frozen.

Taking a cue from my fellow Digit-al Dozen member Sassy Shelly, who did a gray gradient here that I absolutely adored, decided to sponge on Glam Polish Lisbeth.

I have no idea what that dot was on my finger (probably in the sponge) but it annoyed me greatly, so picked it out as best as I could, then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish.  This is yet another base that I would see so much use for stamping on top; I'm sure it will make an appearance at some point over the winter!

For the scenery, I first added the horse and carriage from WM59 using Konad black special polish and Mundo de Unas 23.  Then added the house from Infinity 13 using black Konad special polish.  Next, stamped the trees on the ring and pinky using Infinity 75 using black Konad special polish and Mundo de Unas 7.  Some of the path on the ring finger, I brushed in to make solid.  Lastly, using MoYou Mother Nature Collection-09, stamped in the barn and weather vane using black Konad special polish and Mundo de Unas 09.  I did the image shrinking technique and even then, barely got them to fit.  And yes, the sideway stamping was intentional; when I planned this in my head, the look was suppose to be as if the carriage was going along the path, heading home and the barn in farms is usually behing the house (if only my thumb could turn sideways and be higher up like I've seen other bloggers do!) but it was the best I could do.  Added the moon on middle finger using Infinity 75 using CND Silver Chrome, then high lighted with brush and white Konad special polish.

MW59.

MoYou Mother Nature Collection-09

Added a wreath over the front door, hand painted in more path on the middle finger and dabbed Mundo de Unas 48 here and here on trees for interest. Touched up the barn better, etc.

Top coated to finish.

Like so many other mani's this week, decided to matte it, mainly so imagery could be seen better.

In hindsight to make this a little bit more wintery, I should have added in some falling snow and maybe put some snow on the trees, etc. and maybe could have down with a darker backdrop, but none the less, I was pleased how this turned out! I particularly like the snowy look on the roof of the house.

Hopefully you have enjoyed this weeks challenge mani's!  I had a lot of fun doing them!

Here's the other ladies Day 5 mani's!

Thanks for looking!  Now onto more seasonal and holiday themed mani's..............they will be coming!
