Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!  Sorry, I'm a couple days late!  It's the Year of the Rooster; here's what I came up with!

I did some marble drips with the thought in mind that it would be mainly red, with thin lines of marble of black and glitter butttttt they didn't turn out like that.  Too much black for the most part and just wasn't what I had in mind.  Hey, sometimes that happens.  Used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Red My Lips, OPI Black Onyx and Parrot Polish White Gold.

Applied the decals and tried to clean up that darn red as best as I could!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using Bundle Monster BM-S230 (index), BM-S228 (upper images on ring), BM-H15 (lower images on ring), and MoYou Zodiac Collection-22 (pinky, middle and thumb).  Used CND Gold Chrome as the stamping polish.

I did my other hand slightly different; liked how it turned out too!

This didn't turn out exactly what I had in mind but OK I think in the end!

Digit-al Dozen Does Decades; Day 3

For Day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen decade challenge, another nod to the 70's with these psychedelic nails!

First, I assembled a whole lot of polishes to do a drip marble; Dare to Wear Wild Berry, Spearmint, Strawberry Mousse, Rock Candy, Teddy, Coral Carnation, Butterflies and Happily Ever After.  Also, China Glaze Yell-O and Parrot Polish White Gold for a little sparkle.  (Excuse the rest of the messy work station!)

The results of my drip marbles...and the stamper decal I did for the accent.

I only ended up using maybe 2 of the decals I made; I had a hard time picking which ones to use as I loved how so many of them looked!  Did an accent of Dare to Wear Spearmint for the stamper decal base.

The stamper decal was an image from Marianne Nails n.30.  I used some of the same drip marble polishes in the hand band and some acrylic paint.  Moyra Stamping Plate 12-Faces has the same image on this plate, but the image is larger.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Added the stamper decal from Marianne Nails n.30.

Stamped the rest of the nails using FunkyFingers Dark Knight using images from MoYou Back to the 70's Collection-04.

Added a few dots to the accent for filler using some of the same drip marble polishes.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

While I wish the marble had have been a little brighter, I still think this is a super groovy cool mani; especially love the index finger which I want to do on all my nails some time!

Digit-al Dozen Does Decades; Day 2

Ziggy played guitarrrrrr!!!!!

I sang hummed this line mani times while painting my nails for Day 2 of Digit-al Dozen does decades!  When googling the 70's for this challenge, David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust images came up quite often.  Then, David Bowie was trending on FB this weekend on what would have been his birthday (January 8th; same as Elvis!) and today being the anniversary of his death, I knew that a David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust mani was in order!  I didn't do it in the colours of the era but more so kinda like a galaxy background to go with the whole extraterrestrial persona (not very successfully!); here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Opal Lagoon, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After letting my nails dry for about 15 minutes, sponged on Beyond Polish Peony, Dare to Wear Butterflies, FingerPaints Be Still My Beatnik He-Art and OPI Suzi Without a Paddle.  Dabbed a little Parrot Polish White Gold here and there for some sparkle interest.

Topped with KbShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made a couple Ziggy Stardust stamper decals using an image from Creative Shop 29; they are both shrunk using the UC Luxe stamper; the one on the left was shrunk twice; the one of the right, once.  Filled them in with silver metallic acrylic paint. Because I didn't want black stars, I used pure acetone and removed them off the stamper head.

I used the double shrunk image on my largest nail and it still barely fit!  After placing it, I added stars from the same image with a clear stamper for placement.  The rest of the images are from MoYou Roxy Collection-09 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

The placement of this image is a little awkward as I had to place it on the diagonal to fit and I don't think he's that obvious in all the shots but he is kinda cool so here's a solo pix!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

P.S:  For all those David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust aficianados, I know enough about Ziggy Stardust that the thumb may not be accurate so have taken some space artistic liberties here for interest!
