Snowflake Sweater

These Glam Polishes are some of my favourites.  So much so that when I usually wear my Glam's, it is on skittles as I'm trying to preserve them. Like this time, when I used them for some sweater nails.  I have no idea why I conserve them; I'm never going to run out of polish but I do.  Anyway, here's what I came up with!

Based polishes, starting at thumb and going clockwise, are Glam Batch 9, Glam Someday My Prince Will Come, Glam CRASH, Glam Remember the Monsters and Glam Break the Ice, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MoYou London Festive Collection-06 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Sweater Nails!

We've been spoiled with 'warmer' temperatures last week or so and hae had cooler temps this past week and its forecasted for the next few days.  I even heard something like -10 or -15 but might have been mistaken.  Anyway, its a great time to share these fabulous sweater nails!  Here's what I came up with!

Outdoor lighting; see the shimmer more.

Started with a base of two coats of Cupcake Polish Tale as Old as Time (PPU October 2020), on a base of Polished for Days Soft Focus.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Maniology m039 (thumb and pinky) and MoYou Festive 06 (the reset) using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Different lighting; again, see the shimmer better.  Love!

Another one.

Thanks for looking....and St. Pat's Day mani's to follow til the 17th!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!

The base is KBShimmer He Slimed Me, KBShimmer Chilly Pepper and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, no top coat.

Topped OPI MBSW with Colores de Carol Let's Get Lit.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Creative Shop 160 (ring), Infinity 29 and MoYou Festive 06 (thumb), Moyra 71 Frozen (middle), Moyra 36 Winter is Coming (index) and UberChic Christmas 02 (pinky).  I did these nails around 2 am so my shadow stamping wasn't that tight on the thumb but hey, it was late and I wasn't up to doing them again.  I'm surprised I layer stamped so well on the ring and pinky fingers lol.  I feel thought that the stamping covered too much of the topper though so I think next time I used this topper, I'd stamp smaller images.  Used MdU 9, 52 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate for stamping polishes.

Decided to add a bit of colour and interest, so added a few random dots here and there with same stamping polishes and also CND Gold Chrome.

All the best to you this holiday season!

Snowflakes!

This is what I was sporting Boxing Day last year at the hubs family Christmas get together but didn't have time to share.  Pretty simple and classic I think!  I also added more images to extend the mani during the busy holiday season....pix is at the bottom of the post!

Started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer Chilly Pepper.

Added a coat of top coat.

Stamped using Chez Noel 003 with an accent of MoYou Festive Collection-0-6 using Girly Bits White Wedding.

Added a coat of top coat to finish.

A day or so later (can't remember but I see tip wear in the pix lol!),  added images from Bundle Monster BM S219 (index), Born Pretty BP-L018 (thumb), Chez Noel 002 (middle) and Chez Noel A001 (pinky) to change it up a little.

Then finished it off with top coat.

It was a great way to extend a mani yet change it up a bit, especially over the holiday season!

I do have new holiday/winter mani's done...they will be shared soon!

Digit-al Dozen Does Colour Contrasts; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen challenge week!  This months theme is colour contrasts; so colours that are opposite each other on the colour chart......or those that clash.....or compliment each other.....however we individually interpreted it!  Here's what I came up with for Day 1!

Started with a base of two coats of Pretty & Polished Fuzzy Sweater; shown with no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Love the interesting green colour of it with colour shifting flakies!  I love the flakies; gives the polish an added interest to the base!  The Pretty & Polished site described is as an off beat mustard colour but I see more green than mustard which I think is a brighter yellow myself; although when I google swatches, I do see some pictures that lean yellow....but certainly not mustard yellow unless the mustard has gone bad!

Stamped using images from MoYou Festive Collection-06 with accent of BM-S216.  For some reason, I didn't take note of the stamping polish, but I do believe it was a MoYou one.

I actually like how these two colours go together, contrast/clash or not......and I think this is the perfect Fuzzy Sweater!  Even thought I'm not as fond of some other of the colour combinations I came up with this week.....!

Digit-al Dozen Does Traditions; Day 5

I'm really late for Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen week; this mani is also doing double duty as the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Christmas prompt.

Today's nails represent a tradition in my home that I wish wasn't a tradition; the wrapping of Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve!  It doesn't matter how early we do our shopping, or how many or few gifts we have to wrap, they all get wrapped on Christmas Eve.  The hubs actually does the wrapping because he's a better wrapper then I am; I wrap gifts that look like a four year old did it!  I'm the helper; I do all the tags, putting them under the tree and do the stocking filling in between.  Some years, especially when the kids were little and wouldn't go to sleep, the wrapping of the gifts didn't get finished until 3 or 4 am.....when you are up bright and early with excited little ones, that isn't much sleep!  I think last year was the first year we were done relatively early; only because all the kids are older now; we only have a few gifts to wrap as the majority of their gifts are gift cards and cash.

Did an assortment of polish bases; Lacquistry Amazeballz You're So Extra Fine! on thumb and pinky, two coats of Girly Bits Little Red Toque on index, three coats Noodles Nail Polish Snow Coat Snow Boots Snow Problems, and three coats piCture pOlish LakoDom on ring; all have no top coat.  All these different finishes probably go against a lot of peoples mani rules but I love it!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Chez Noel 003 (thumb), MoYou Festive Collection-06 (index), Sugar Bubbles Special 02 (middle), Infinity 35 (ring) and Chez Divers 009 (pinky).  Stamping polishes are all Girly Bits Stamping Polishes**; White Wedding, Fire Engine Red, Golden Ticket and Emerald.

Decorated the tree by adding some garland using Girly Bits Fire Engine Red, also dotted ornaments using Golden Ticket.  Dotted thumb image using Girly Bits Emerald and White Wedding Stamping Polishes. Dotted index finger with Lacquistry Amazeballz, as well as added ornaments on the tree using it and wrapped the presents under the tree with it too!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I took this pix the next day in overcast skies.  There is so much glare with my lighting set up and the glitter and Amazeballz, I thought the stamping might be shown better in more natural light.  I love how the Amazeballz and the red stamping polish look together!  This will be another mani sometime soon!

Here's the other ladies Day 5 traditions manis!

Unorthodox Christmas Sweater Nails

These nails might win the Ugly Sweater Nails contest for being so ugly, but I love them!  I always try to think a little outside the box for at least one mani when doing seasonal or theme mani's and I think this is outside the box if nothing else!  I think they are really cool anyway!

Started with a base of three coats of KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie; this is shown without top coat.  This is a polish that really needs a coat of top coat for best results.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Picking up the green glitter in the polish, stamped with Mundo de Unas 52 using images from Bundle Monster BM-S215 (middle) Ejiubas EJB-03 (thumb) and MoYou Festive Collection-06 (index, ring and pinky).  Two things of note; this particular Mdu is a skin stainer so do cleanup on each finger immediately after stamping; even though I did this, I still have hues of green on a couple fingers.  Also, because the polish is so thick, it is best to stamp, scrap then wait about 5 seconds before picking up the image to avoid fine spider lines.  I forgot to do this on the thumb which was the first finger I stamped but quickly remembered once I did the thumb so the rest of the nails aren't that bad lol.  It's not noticeable IRL but in macro, very obvious!

Bundle Monster BM-S215.

Ejiubas EJB-03.  These plate are actually etched on both sides in case you are wondering why you are seeing so many images.  They are sold on Amazon here.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I didn't want top bother with a lot of glitter removal even though I did a coat of glitter peel to help with the glitter removal so did my right hand slightly different.  This is OPI My Current Crush stamped using same plates.  Even though not traditional colours, I think they work well together; really liked how this turned out too!
