Just Swirls!

Simple stamping on a layered base is another regular occurance on my nails lately, including this one!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of ILNP Hi-Score, no top coat.

Layered Music City Beauty Hold Me Closer Tony Danza (PPU June 2023), no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Creative Shop 11 using mixed blend of Painted Polish Blanc Slate, Painted Polish Stamped in Taro, Painted Polish Stamped in Lilac and Moyra SP 19.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Happy Birthday, Turtlechick12!

Today is my nail pal, Turtlechick's birthday and I did these nails especially for her!  Hope you have a great day, Julie!  Julie is awesome; she is my US nail pal who gets polishes for me when shipping isn't possible to Canada; she has also overseen numerous nail plate group buys for not only me but probably hundreds of other gals, negotiating great deals for us stamping ladies, then working countless hours putting together the buys, receiving them and then reshipping the goods all over the world!  Thanks so much!

Started with a base of two coats of Great Lakes Lacquer Never Gonna Give You Up, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I was going for the deep sea look, so added a coat of I Love Nail Polish Gaia.

Added some sea foliage; used images from MoYou Sailor 08 and 10.  Used assortment of MdU polishes.

Added a few more images from UberChic Party Time (thumb), MoYou Tourist Collection-17 (ring and index) and the two MoYou Sailor plates.  In total, the MdU polishes used were 11, 13, 46, 52, 59 and 66.

Hope you have a fantastic day, Julie!

April the Giraffe Finally Gives Birth!!

I feel like the grandma who has been anxiously awaiting the birth of a grandchild with April, the giraffe, and her calf and the baby giraffe is finally here as it was born this morning!   It seems like forever that April was due to give birth but  I suppose that's how it goes; these things can't be rushed and nature will take its course when it's good and ready!  Here are my nails for the event!

Started with a base of two coats of ILNP Cabin Fever, with accent of Moyra SP 17.  Yes, that's right; I used the stamping polish as a base polish!  I did this as I wanted the accent to match the stamping!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Moyra SP 17 using an image from UberChic UC-Out of Africa-01.

Stamped the accent using an image from Infinity 52 with a blend of MdU 22 and Kiko 323.

Digit-al Dozen Does Birthdays; October 2016!

It's Digit-al Dozen Birthday time; this month, we're celebrating Amber from Nails Like Lace's birthday which was a couple weeks ago!  Happy belated Birthday, Amber!  For each birthday post, the birthday girl picks an inspirational photo and the members do mani's based on the pix she chose.  Based on Amber's pick of Unicorn Wood, this is what I came up with!

This is the inspirational photo, aptly titled Unicorn Wood!

To create the effect, I did blobs of polishes in what I hoped would be close colours on a sponge.  Used Essie I'm Addicted, Essie Castaway, Essie High Class Affair and Essie Sittin' Pretty.

Applied one thin coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls as a base.  Then repetitively pressed my nail into the sponge hoping to hit the same spot pretty much until the colours where dark enough.  I did these nails first thing this morning and apparently I was still sleeping as I forgot to apply liquid latex!

Cleaned up as best as I could.

Added a coat of magical unicorn dust aka I Love Nail Polish My Private Rainbow (Scattered).

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made a stamper decal using an image from BM XL214 and the same polishes; white is acrylic paint. (Edit from original post to add:  This image was double stamped; first with Uber Chic Luxe stamper to shrink, then onto a stamper to make a stamper decal.  This is why the image is reversed from the original image.)

Applied the decal.

Using the same image as the unicorn, stamped on star background by double and triple stamping as needed using GirlyBits clear jelly stamper.

Bundle Monster BM-XL214

Added unicorns from Nailways Darker Period Fairy Tails using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  (I could not for the life of me get one. single. clear. jelly. stamper. to stamp these images thankfully I was able to use my regular go to FAB UR Nails semi-squishy and place the images decently.  But it so annoying when the clear jelly stampers don't work well!)

Finished the mani off with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Here's the other ladies birthday nails!
