Teal Floral

I realized that I think I have a think for floral mani's and then dotting the centers of them because I seem to do it quite often.  I guess that's one of my things for nails.  Could be worse, I suppose lol. Anyway, here's another floral mani with dots!

Started with a base of Lippman Video Killed The Radio Star, topped with a coat of Level Up Lacquer Lazarus (April 2018 PPU), no top coat.  Not sure why I didn't share the Lippmann by itself, but I checked the camera roll; I didn't even take a picture of it which seems odd but too late now to do anything about it.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Marianne Nails XXL 9 using MdU 1.

Added a few dots for colour and interest using MdU 106.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I realize that this isn't a true blue mani but more teal, but close enough for me!  It's in the spectrum!

Thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Decades; Day 5

I'm sorry for not posting my day 5 Digit-al Dozen decades challenge earlier; I managed to get the mani posted on IG, just didn't get the blog posted done.   Here's a Spice Girls 90's inspired mani for day's nails!

The picture my nails was inspired by; Spice Girls in 1995.

Started with a base of Deborah Lippmann Run, Run Rudolph with Girly Bits Polish Matte'rs, Lippmann Maniac with a coat of La Reine Crystal Glitter, two coats of OPI No Tan Lines, a sponged gradient of OPI No Tan Lines, Essence Mr. Rusty and Sally Hansen CSM Red My Lips and Nicole by OPI Hit the Lights with a coat of FingerPaints Lemon Sour.

Did a verticle sponged gradient on the ring finger.

Stamped using MoYou Holy Shapes Collection-06 and MoYou Artist Collection-02 on the middle finger, MoYou Illusion Collection-02 on the pinky and Infinity 12 on ring.  No stamping on the other nails to go along with inspiration pix.

MoYou Collection Artist Collection-02

MoYou Holy Shapes Collection-06

Added another coat of matte on the thumb, then a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top on the rest to finish.

I stamped the other nails just for fun using images from Infinity 37 (thumb) and Infinity 149 on index.

Here's the other ladies Day 5 mani's!

The jolly guy in the red suit will soon be here!  This is the mani I did for Santa's arrival!

I had made stamper decals using Navidad 1 for Santa and the candy cane using acrylic paints; applied them. Stamped ring with an image from MJ XXX VIII using FunkyFingers Gesso, index wih EJB-03 using Moyra SP 15, and thumb with an image from Marianne Nails n.118 using Girly Bits Fire Engine Red..

Navidad 1.

Applied topcoat to most fingers.

Dotted berries on index using Girly Bits Fire Engine Red.

Added a few snowflakes from Sugar Bubbles SBS 08 for interest and filler.

The Crumpet's Daughter's Birthday

Today, over at FB Adventures in Stamping, we did mani's to celebrate The Crumpet's daughter's 9th birthday....this is what I came up with.

Started with a base of OPI If You Moust You Moust from the OPI Vintage Minnie Mouse collex.  I almost passed on this polish because I thought it seems similar to other pink cremes I already have in my stash....but I couldn't resist!  The pix below was taken outside in overcast skies; it is slightly brighter than this IRL.  This is two coats, no topcoat.

Added a layer of Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams.  One coat, no topcoat.  While this may seem uneven and bumpy from the pix/angle, its smooth as glass and so much more beautiful IRL!  I want to add Sweet Dreams to every pink polish!

Another view.  This pix was indoors at a window; the one above was outside in overcast skies.  The weather was just terrible while I was away for the weekend; I have no great lighting source when I'm not at home other than whatever Mother Nature provides!

Stamped!  I didn't take a pix of this but used fauxnad XL K light pink Konad stamping polish and stamped confetti on the thumb and stars on the middle finger.  Some of this shows up slightly in the pix; just added for some layering interest.  Used Konad white stamping polish for main stampings, using fauxnad XL K (balloons and happy birthday cake), SdP 62 (girl), SdP 66 (comb and perfume), SdP 77 (flowers on middle finger and scattered elsewhere), SdP 32 (present and star), SdP 67 (bow), SdP 71 (castle and butterfly), SdP 65 (sunflower) and Sdp 57 (starfish and shell).

Added a few yellow dots for flower centres and a few other random dots scattered using yellow Sally Hansen Instadri.

Topped with SV.

SdP's can be bought here and I got the fauxnad XL K plate here!

I hope the lil Crumpett enjoyed all the mani's in her honour...it was a lot of fun putting it together!!

Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Fall Nails

Here in Ontario, it's almost like September 1st hit and fall arrived. Well, not exactly the first, but since Sunday (which was the 4th) or so. Most of the week, up to Thursday or so, we had some dreary, cold, overcast days....put a damper on cracking open some holo polishes as simply little or no sun in these parts. While the weather picked up since then, I did this mani when the weather was dreary earlier in the week using my recently purchased Deborah Lippmann polish, Brickhouse.

Here's mani in progress. Two coats of DL Brickhouse.

Then stamped using fauxnad IP H19, with CND Gold Chrome for the stamping polish.

I should have left it like this, but decided to add a few random dots using Black Konad special polish...not loving this look so much, but too late to do anything about it...except change my polish again, which I'll do!

Have you done any fall mani's yet? I have a few planned but I'm holding out in the hope that we still have some summer weather over the next month or so!

Thanks for looking!

Summer Fun!

Murale had a 20x the points event so I dropped by on Friday and picked up a couple of the new Lippmann's. Finally, my polish shopping paid off! Not only did I get 20x the points (which I always redeem for more polishes (sometimes perfume) at the extra money events), when I checked out, they said because I had bought so many polishes, I got some free so was able to get two free ones. I had five Lippmann's to chose from and picked out Across the Universe and Red Ruby Slippers. They were testers but looked 99% full so I couldn't complain. Free is always good!

Lippmann Girls Just Want to Have Fun stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dry polish in unnamed yellow using BundleMonster IP BM-224.

Lastly, did a couple dots with dotting tool.

Here's Girls Just Want to Have Fun by itself.

Does this say summer fun to you? I think it does...either that or Grandma's old wallpaper...not sure which one....

Hope you're having a fantastic weekend...maybe even enjoying a long weekend like me as its the long Victoria Day weekend here in Ontario.

I Thought I Had Another Unintentional Easter Mani On My Hands!

For some reason, I got to thinking I haven't worn pink in a while. Sitting on my nail table was a recently obtained bottle of Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter and I sorted thru my stash to come up with a pink that was untried. Decided upon Deborah Lippmann My Romance.
This is what the two of them look like together:
This is when it struck me that I had created yet another unintentional Easter mani! I actually really like these two polishes together and this look would be great for Easter, or Spring or super cute for my dear daughter to wear (although she seems mainly to be into black or red...not girly girl nails like this!) While I can't wait to do some Easter stamping, its too early for me, so had to come up with a way to turn this unintentional Easter mani around! Low and behold, again, sitting on my nail desk was my newly acquired image plates from Shirley-had just taken the plastic coating off the last one a day ago-so decided upon the My Little Pony plate (SdP B-14) with stars (SdB B-18). Stamped with Konad black special polish.

Photobucket

I really like the look of these stars and could easily see myself doing this mani again and again with all five fingers with just the stars...or other endless combinations as these stars rock!

And here's My Romance all by itself. This was three coats and still can see some VNL...but very pretty none the less.
