Boo!!

It's ironic that as I type this post, I'm in the middle of watching the Halloween movies that feature Michael Myers; too bad I didn't do a Michael Myers mani but this more cute looking one.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy base using CND Electric Orange, Morgan Taylor Ugh, As If and Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief using images from MoYou Halloween-03 (thumb and ring), UberChic UC Halloween-08 (middle), and Lina Spooklicious! 02 (pinky and index).

Floral Gradient!

I did this floral gradient a couple days ago; right before I had to cut my nails down due to a little nick in the corner of one of my nails.  Don't you hate when that happens?  What can you do; file down and start growing them again.  They were just starting to grow out a little from last file down; here's what I came up with anyway!

Started out with a sponged gradient of Jelly by Barry M Blood Orange, Satsuma, Mango and then a little Revlon Ultra HD Snap Marigold Maven, no top coat.  I *think* this might be the first time I did a gradient with 4 polishes.  Think, but not quite sure.  I was surprised they all showed on the gradient; usually I have a hard time doing 3 on the nail and my nails aren't that long here either.

New Year's Nails!

It's New Year's Eve so I thought I'd share these New Year's nails that I did not too long ago.

Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Milani 3D Holographic 510, no top coat. I chose this colour as I wanted a gold that would really pop with a negative space image, which I knew I wanted to do.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic Christmas-02 with an accent nail of MoYou Festive-039 sing Midnight Mischief.  I had planned on using a negative space fireworks image but couldn't find it so did snowflakes instead.  Of course, I found the negative space fireworks image the next day.  Whomp, whomp, whommmpppp.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

New Year's Eve is going to be another quiet affair this year but it won't be that much different than any other year.  Whatever you happen to do, be safe during these trying times!

Floral Negative Space Nails!

I've used this combination of colours a few times and I have to admit, it is a favourite, that's for sure!  This might be my first time sharing it though.  While I could use a few different polishes to come up with something new, I also think, why fix it if it's not broken??!!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a gradient base of Color Club Peace Out Purple, Mrs. Robinson and Island Vibes.

I Might Need To Use Negative Space Images More Often!

I'm doing a scheduled post for a few weeks away as I type this; I hope the day I pick is a bright sunny day to go along with these bright sunny nails!

The nails didn't start too bright and sunny; this is two coats of SuperChic Awkward Turtle, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Marianne Nails XXL 6 using MdU 46.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I don't use these negative space images that often, mainly because I don't think that the base shows that well most of the time but I think I need to start using them more often!

Digit-al Dozen Does Colours; Day 3

I'm a little late with sharing these nails but have had a couple wild and crazy days!  So this is a perfect time to share these wild and crazy nails for day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen colours challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

I wanted some bright and colourful nails so picked out these Potion Polishes:  High Roller, Lava Lamp, Punch Buggy, Celebration, On the List and V.I.P. Pass.

Did a stamper smooshy base.  I was surprised based on the colours that I had picked that the base wasn't brighter, but with smooshy stamper art, you take it as it falls lol.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Apipila Super Placa A using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

While I really loved how this turned out, I also thought it would be the perfect mani to matte. So the next day, topped with a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte.  I love how it turned out too; I couldn't decide which I liked better!

Digit-al Dozen Does Negative Space; Day 5

I made it to day 5 for negative space challenge week!  What a challenge!  I went from not being into negative space too much to not minding them with the right design at the end as I do like how these turned out!  I started to look at my nail art plates in a different light now and you might actually see some more negative space nails on the blog every now and then!  I really liked how day 5 nails turned out; I was looking through my Bundle Monster plates for images to use for another Olympics mani and came across BM-XL209 and thought one of the images on it might make an interesting negative space mani.  I did some stamper decals and while they aren't perfect as my eyes were going all bug eyed when I was trying to fill in the voids as well as keep track of the lines around the bubbles, but think they turned out pretty cool looking anyway!  I think a great mani would be doing stamper decals like here was but placing them over a contrasting base polish so have filed this in the back of my mind for a future mani.  Anyway, here's what I came up with for day 5!

Started by making stamper decals using an image from Bundle Monster BM-XL209 and FunkyFingers Gesso as the stamping polish then filled in with acrylic paints.

BM-XL209

Applied the stamper decals to the nail.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I did my right hand a little different; did two coats of Too Fancy Lake Como and stamped using same image.

I decided I wanted a little bit more umph to the mani so added a coat of Northern Lights Hologram Topcoat in silver as I couldn't find China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Even though I was happy how these turned out and think there are some of the more interesting nails I've done lately, I'm still not a fan of the natural nails underneath (which are stained in my case making them look worse) and the tip lines are yet a different colour underneath is another annoyance; it just throws me off when doing these negative space nails.  I'll have to carefully pick images or consider void placements in the future but am glad overall that I did make it through the challenge!

Digit-al Dozen Does Negative Space; Day 4

I'm not a fan of this mani at all; let's just say it started as a great idea in my mind but it went downhill from there!  While I wanted to do a replacement mani with the hopes it turned out better, I didn't have enough time and by default, I have to use this for a challenge mani. But this mani might hold the record for being the one that was on my nails the shortest amount of time because it was off before the final coat of QD TC dried!

For a little colour interest, I did a sponged gradient using CND Electric Orange, Bicycle Yellow and Raspberry Parfait on accent, then stamped over it using an image from MoYou Tropical Collection 14, as well as the other fingers using another image from the same plate.

MoYou Tropical Collection-14

This is MoYou Tropical Collection-13; I was going to use the same image for the pinky as it is smaller but decided against it.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I removed this mani 2 seconds after snapping the last picture; I can tolerate a lot of my nails but was not a fan of this at all!!! I didn't have time to do a replacement mani but I have always said I would share the good with the bad and this is definitely one of them!

Here's the other ladies Day 4 negative space nails, which I'm sure are wayyyy better than these!

I hope Day 5 will redeem me; thanks for looking!
