Sunflowers!

I wore these not too long ago; they are a good season transitional mani from summer to fall; bright enough to fall into a summer mani, but theme appropriate for fall.  Not that it matters as I wear what I want when I want.....here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Picture Polish Sunflower with an accent of Claire's Galaxy, no topcoat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Creative Shop 91 using Painted Polish Mischief.

Added a couple dots on accent nail (not very well!) using Picture Polish Sunflower.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hope you're having a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Blue Floral Nails!

I've really been loving doing floral nails lately!  I remember a time when stamping plates were released and I thought, oh no, not another floral plate.  But now, I'm like, I need to be buying more floral plates!  Although not really because I seem to be drawn to this one image on Lina 4 Season-Spring 02 and have used it time after time!  Here's what I came up with not too long ago!

Started with a base of one coat of China Glaze Bahamian Escape, then coated with one thin coat of Claire's Off To See The Wizard.  I love this type of polish; I know polishes like this aren't all the rage right now but I think they give a pretty interesting base for some stamping.  I have begun to search my stash to see how many colours I have these polishes in because I want them all!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Konad Square 13 (index and pinky) and Lina 4 Seasons-Spring 02 on the rest using MdU 1.

Added floral images from same Lina plate to accent nails using MdU 112, then dotted nails using MdU 1 and 112.

Not the clearest picture but look at that holo!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on To to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 4

Happy Valentine's Day!!  This mani is going to do double duty for Valentine's Day as well as day 4 of Digit-al Dozen texture challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats each of El Corzaon N530A (thumb and middle), Claire's Galaxy (index and pinky) and Girly Bits Brrr-ch Please (ring), no top coat.

Added topcoat on all fingers except thumb and middle as the El Corazon dries matte and rough, making it appropriate for the texture challenge!

Stamped images from Marianne Nails Professional n.29 (thumb and middle) and Lina All About Love 02 (index, pinky and ring) using MdU 1 and 2.  Added heart to ring finger using same Lina plate using Konad red special stamping polish.

Lina All About Love 02

Marianne Nails Professional n.29

By hand and brush, filled in heart on pinky using same Konad red stamping polish.  Shadow stamped the thumb using Marianne Nails Professionals n.29.  Note:  I love the look of this image shadow stamped!  I'll have to do another mani sometimes using this image!

Unfortunately, the heart on the pinky didn't show up that well.  So found my rarely used and cherished FUN red stamping polish and redid the heart on the pinky.  Added heart to index using an image from the same Marianne Nails plate.  I didn't risk restamping the heart on the ring ring finger as I probably wouldn't line it up that well even with a clear stamper, plus it showed up pretty good on the light base colour, so left it.

Topped all fingers except the thumb and middle with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here are the other ladies day 4 mani's!

An InLinkz Link-up

Have a great Valentine's Day if you do that sort of thing, or have a great Thursday if it's just another day!  Thanks for looking!

Trick or Treat!

It's hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner!  Here's a Halloween mani I was wearing over the weekend.

Polishes used, starting a thumb and going clockwise are Barry M Bright Purple, Maybelline Orange Fix, Maybelline Go Go Green and Dare to Wear Ready for My Close Up; all two coats except the pinky.  All have topcoat except pinky which I left with the three coats as it looked like it was going to shrink badly at the tips without SV.

On the middle finger, did a taped mani using the orange and purple base coats and then added glitter on the index and ring fingers.  The glitter over the index is Claire's Pumpkin and Nubar Lime Green Glitter over the index. My tape mani's still need some I can see!

Stamped using assortment of image plates; W219 (index), SdP C-14 (ring), BM-H07 (middle and thumb) and FUN 5 (pinky).  The polishes used were black Konad special polish, Sally Hansen Lickety-Split Lime (pinky) and Mundo de Unas stamping polishes in 11 (yellow) and 13 (orange).

Added a few bats to the index finger using BM305 and spider to the thumb using BM-H07.

Topped with SV to finish.

I really wanted to add glitter dots here and there on the mani but I thought this was busy enough....but I did do it on my right hand.

Here's plate BM-H07.

This is the mani I posted for the AIS Sunday Challenge which was Halloween.  Hope you had a fantastic weekend; thanks for looking!

Nubs No More!

This is my NOTD...16 days after I shortened my nails on January 1st. Not long by any means, but enough length to no longer be classified as nubs...or at least what I think nubs is on me!

Started with two coats of GOSH Gypsy Blue.

Did an accent nail with one coat of Claire's Off to See the Wizard.

Stamped using SdP 59 with pastel blue Konad special polish.

I then isolated two of the flowers on the same image from this plate and stamped them on the accent nail using white Konad special polish.

Added a few white dots.

Lastly, added a couple blue dots in the centre of white flowers on the accent nail; topped with SV.

Thanks for looking!

Halloween Mani Using Plates from Giveaway!

As you may recall, my recent giveaway includes five image plates provided by Beautiful Scratchers (BS). This is an unposted mani I did at Halloween using S8 from the plates.

While I had emailed Beautiful Scratchers to buy them, as they are a local GTA company in my area, Jenna delivered a set of them to my office along with some new metallic polishes that I had seen on her esite. When we met, she was good enough to offer a set of her new image plates as a giveaway for my blog so this is why I'm able to offer them as part of the giveaway!

From what I gathered in our conversation, Jenna actually created these stamping plates - you will not find these exact designs on any other plates or be able to buy any place other than Beautiful Scratchers. I acknowledge though that there are similar designs (ie more than one pumpkin or Hello Kitty image out there!)

Jenna has also created a whole bunch of stamping polishes. I found her company about two or more years now while surfing ebay looking for alternatives to Konad special polishes (they too expensive, frustrated as some didn't stamp well as well as looking for more colour options). This was well before I started blogging or even surfing the net for stamping sites. I guess I wasn't smart or creative enough to realize that other polishes might well for stamping!

Since that day a few years ago, Jenna and I have met up a few times as I've bought more of her products. I've also been lucky enough to get samples here and there of new colours she had been working on developing (like the hot pink which stamps well, unlike Konad's hot pink, which is why I just bought a full size bottle). I always adore meeting up with Jenna as its great to speak to someone in real life who has a passion about stamping like me!

The polishes that I used for this mani are Wet n Wild Black Creme (thumb), Icing The Golden Age of Glitter (on black base); Revlon Alluring Amber (orange base); Icing Pumpkin (orange glitter on orange base), Misa Green with Envy (green base); Misa Disco Green (green glitter on green base), CND Eclectic Purple (purple base), Claire's Diva Purple (purple glitter on purple base) Wet n Wild Red (red base), Generation Red glitter (glitter on red base). Stamped using BS IP S8 using Black Konad special polish and Nicole by OPI Positive Energy.

My giveaway is here. This image plate as well as the rest of the Beautiful Scratchers plates and polishes can be seen here. I again acknowledge and thank Beautiful Scratchers for donating this as a prize for my giveaway!
