Christmas Snowflakes!

It's almost Christmas time so I thought I had better start to share some holiday nails.  While the design isn't very holidayish, the colours scream Christmas, so these count.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Wildflower Lacquer Straight Outta St. Olaf and Pahlish Toxic & Timeless, all two coats, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic Let It Snow using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Used a dotter and polished up the dots on the nails using same stamping polish.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Decided to matte topcoat so added a coat of Essie Matte About You.

The Wildflower with the matte topcoat just makes this look like velvet; my favourite way to wear this polish for sure!  Thanks for looking!

In Memoriam to My Mother In Law

Shortly after New Year's, on January 5th, my mother-in-law passed away.  We had just seen her a few days before as we had taken her and my parents out for brunch on December 30th and she was doing well, and we were glad we had seen her before she passed as it was sudden and expected.  Today is her Celebration of Life and these nails are for her.

Started with a base of three coats of Essie The Fuchsia of Art, no top coat.  Even with three coats, this polish was pretty sheer.

Topped with a coat of Wildflower Lacquer Fairy Lights (PPU April 2020), no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Moyra 118 Dream On using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no topcoat.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

A lot of people complain about their mother in laws but I can't say I ever had any issues with mine.  We never had any issues and she wasn't in our business as so many times occurs...or so I hear lol.  She loved her family and was a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, loved to play cards and dice and always had her nails done when she could get to the salon; just not in later years.  In fact, I stamped her nails a few times as did my daughter, who also gave her a few pedicures over the years.  Her and my husband were close, as she was with all her kids, and she will be missed.  Rest in peace.

Hello Fall!

Fall colours are just starting to be on display and as the temperature's at night gets cooler, the display will only get better in the upcoming weeks.  I can't wait as it's one of my favourite things to do!  I have quite a few fall mani's to share this season and will be posting them over the next few posts.  Here's one of them now!

Started with a base of two coats of Revlon Commander in Chief, no top coat.

Topped most of the nails with Wildflower Lacquer Fairy Codmother.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from UberChic mini:  Hello Fall & Pumpkin Spice (ring and pinky), MoYou Fall in Love 09 (thumb and middle) and MoYou Fall in Love 06 (index).  Used MdU 9, 13, 59, 66, 106 and 107 as well as Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Blanc Slate (my go to black and whites).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I took a few different pix of this mani in different lighting and with and without top coat.  Here it is in natural daylight.

More Layering....and Not A Floral!

Another experimental layering mani!  Hard to believe that I didn't stamp a floral image either as it seems to be what I'm gravitating to lately!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Mira, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Wildflower Lacquer Fairy Lights, no top coat.  This was from April 2019 Polish Pick Up.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Sugar Bubbles SBS18 using Painted Polishes Stamped in Rose, Thirty & Flirty and Stamped in Cinderelly.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I took this picture the next day in overcast skies; you can see the cool flakies in the Wildflower Lacquer better! Love it!  This would have been a great mani to do a matte topcoat but I didn't think of it at the time...but there is always next time!

Hope you are having a great weekend and thanks for looking!
