Blue Bubbles!

I hope you are enjoying the (mainly) blue mani's in support of April is Autism Awareness month.  I still have a few blue mani's to share; this being one of my favourite manis that I've done lately!  One of those pretty simple nails that I do when I don't have much time yet they turn out pretty cool!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Gelixir 157, no top coat.

Pretty but I've been trying to change things up a bit with my new found love of layering.  So added a coat of Nfu 50.

Close up.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from UberChic UC 7-01 using MdU 91.  These are perfect stamping images; provides lots of interest yet enough of a void to let the beauty of the polish base shine through!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Recreating Your First Blog Posts; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week; this month, we are recreating our first blog posts!  I should have shared this on day 2 as this mani is inspired by the nails I posted on my second ever blog post back here on June 7, 2010; the inspiration pix is below!  But unfortunately I don't have any mani's done in advance and did this one quickly last night so I'd have something to share today.  Here's what I came up with!

This is my inspiration nails!  While it is scary to look at them, it is nice to see how far I've come doing my nails, taking better pictures, etc.  I still don't think my pix are the best and am working still on my lighting, etc etc but they are an improvement anyway!  This is OPI What The Cattitude stamped with an image from Konad m64; I couldn't find the OPI even although I know I have it someplace.

But I thought I would update the mani a bit so did a sponged gradient using OPI The I's Have It, Fearlessly Alice and My Pal Joey.  Added a coat of Nfu Oh GS04.  I didn't take pix of the gradient alone as I was having issues with index nail; the polish kept on sticking to the sponge and taking off polish versus putting it on; I did the nail twice and did it both times and unfortunately, it wasn't that picture worthy.  I left it as is with the hope that the stamping would cover it!

Stamped using same image from Konad m.64 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 1 mani's!

Nfu oh 51 is Amazing!!!

Nfu oh polishes are one of my favourites...its hard to say outright that they are my #1 all-time favourite as there are so many spectacular polishes out there, but certainly, they are near the top of my list. I think Nfu oh has some of the most unique polishes-their holo's and flaky's are bar none...and while I don't have any of their cremes, the ones I've seen in the blogesphere look great as well. I absolutely adore the bottles too...any bottle with a funky design is tops in my books!

This is Nicole by OPI Midnight Snowfall topped with one coat of Nfu oh 51. This combo is very glowy-hopefully, its gorgeousness translates in the pictures....

Nfu oh's aren't available at anyplace I know of in Canada; I know there are some online stores out there that sell them, but don't know if they ship to Canada. I've been lucky to swap for those that I have.

A long time ago, I went to the Nfu oh's blog page and there was a note saying to email them for Canadian sellers; while they were good enough to get back to me right away indicating that they would try to locate one; no followup email was ever received...so if anyone knows where a Canadian gal can get these and they will ship to Canada, kindly let me know!

Sorry for so many pix of the same mani; its just in different angles/lighting, it showed something different and this next pix, the polish just glows in the bottle...

Here's Nicole by OPI Midnight Snowfall on its own....

I haven't decided if I'm going to stamp this...if I do, I will update the post...but for now, I'm really liking it on its own!

Have a great day and thx for looking!

Another from China Glaze Anchors Away....

First Mate! A beautiful blue!

This is darker then in real life...you know...blues and purples are hard to photo accurately....

Here's first mate topped with Nfu oh 53. Nfu oh isn't available in Canada...at least no place I've been! I was lucky enough to swap for a few of these flakies and holos! They really are beautiful and take manis to a whole new level!

Below, I did my right hand with Nfu oh 54...sorry about the poor cleanup...I'm right handed so I didn't do a very good job cleaning up with my left hand! lol! I definately have to do a full mani with this flaky...it is absolutely gorgeous!

Then stamped! IP P21, white Konad special polish.

Sorry for the severe tipwear/shrinkage...this picture was taken after a few days of wear!

And these pix are the first with my new camera! The pix of first mate was taken with my old camera but the rest are with my new one...I'm still trying to figure out lighting/macro/zoom/focusing, etc etc. and haven't decided if I'm going to keep it as I don't know yet if it has all the features I want...without having to buy a camera that will break the bank!

So are you looking forward to the Anchors Away collex being available soon?

Thanks for looking....and don't forget to enter my first giveaway here....for six of the polishes of your choice from the Anchors Away collex as well as IP H12..with the anchor on it!

I Finally Have Nfu's!!

Swapping is absolutely the best!

I have swapped a couple times with a lovely lady from Netherlands, and while she is mainly interested in obtaining OPI's, I'm obsessed with nfu-and catrice, and p2 and...well, you get the picture! First, I adore Nfu oh bottles-they are little mini works of art alone! I've been lucky enough to swap for Nfu oh 17, 44, 50, 51, 52, 54, 61, 64, GS04, GS11 and GS 14!

OPI Jade is the New Black had been an untried for a while and haven't worn green in a few weeks so thought it would be a great time to give it a whirl! Two coats JitNB, then one coat of Nfu oh 52. It has a blue base with flakies, that turned a shade of teal over the green OPI polish.

Day two of mani, stamped using Konad IP 64 with white Konad special polish-yes, I did say white... even though this obviously looks light purple...you see, some weird chemical reaction occured ....did two coats of JitNB, then SV, then nfu and then just left it to dry naturally as I had lots of time as was surfing net. Then stamped...and yes it did stamp white BUT when I put SV overtop of the white...it turned purple before my eyes! Never had this happen before...but I don't actually mind the purple....

Day three of mani, taken outside in overcast skies, but you see the flakies a little better and I have a little chip...but a little chip/wear on day three isn't too bad as its time to change mani again!
