Welcome, Summer!

Welcome, Summer!  Summer has officially arrived and nothing screams summer like flowers in bloom so I'm sharing these floral nails!

Started with a base of two coats of Pahlish This Room Is A Mess! Classic Mom mystery batch.  No top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped plaid with image from Creative Shop 182 Basic with MdU 91.

Added flowers from Lina 4 Seasons Spring-02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Added floral centers using MdU 80.

Topped using KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

After a day or so, added a coat of Essie Matte About You.  I really liked the look of the matte version, too.

Have a wonderful summer!

Failed Shadow Stamping

I did these nails on September 24, 2019.  I can't recall if shadow stamping was a thing then or not but if it was and I was trying it out, it clearly didn't work out here!  So many fails in these nails but they are kinda cool in their own way so thought I'd share now!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a gradient base of Color Club East Austin and Youthquake, no top coat, with East Austin as the full base.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from UberChic Of Art Magic using Painted Polish Blanc Slate and Midnight Mischief.  I'm not sure if I was shadow stamping, or just wanted something more obvious for the stamped image.

Uberchic Of Art Magic

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  This is obviously before my use of Apipila No Smear Top coat....or maybe it wasn't even out then.  Quite possible.  This was in the float your topcoat to not smear your stamping days and even though I always waited a bit before applying topcoat, sometimes like shown here, it wasn't long enough or too heavy of a hand was used.  Thank goodness, no smear top coats are available now!  Although, looking at these nails, it might have been cool if the smear was all through the nail on all nails as it kinda gives it a web look!

Layering Done Right

Another stunning layering combination!  I have so much fun layering polishes; it's one of my favourite things to do!  Fun fact:  These nails are from 2024 and I loved them so much that I recreated them and they are on my nails right now!

Started with a base of Essie Take the Lead, two coats, no top coat.

Topped with Pahlish Boo Bayou Test Batch.  Love!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Big SdP L using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Breaking Out A 'Cult' Favourite!

One of my favourite colour combinations is royal blue and white and here I've combined it with another one of my favourite things; flakies.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Mallory, no top coat.

Topped with Cult Nails Clairvoyant.

This wasn't quite the look I was seeking, so added a coat of Jrien Good Gris Gris (PPU Aug 2019), no top coat.

I was still looking for more, so layered this with Nine Zero Flakie All The Things Gold.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from Marianne Nails n.81 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The next day, I added a coat of Essie Matte About You which highlighted all those layered polishes a bit better.

Pink Daisies!

This is a slightly different spin on the daisy nails that I seem to do oh, so often, except these are 100% stamped, versus, I usually do the dotted center.  I thought I'd try it for something different but I think in all honesty, I prefer the dotted center.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Morgan Taylor She's A Classic and OPI Makeout-side All, two coats, no top coat.

Topped the Morgan Taylor nails with Pahlish Jaq & Gus, no top coat.  I don't think the picture really translates how stunning these nails looked!

Topped all nails with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

CjS PMC-77

Stamped lines using image from Lilic's A08 using MdU 93.

Stamped daisies using image from CjS PMC-77 with Painted Polishes Blanc Slate, Stamped in Slate and Stamped in Starfruit, no topcoat.  I should note that all of these images are shrunk to fit my itty bitty nails so that was a little bit more complicated but glad it's possible so that images like this can be used on my nails.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I did very simple stamping on Ms. Cindy using the same image plate but did dotted centers and again, I just like the look of them versus the stamped centers but still glad I did the other hand all stamping.  And I just say how stunning Morgan Taylor She's A Classic is, with or without layering!  Backup worthy for sure and a summer staple!

Squiggly Lines

I love the combination of the layering for the base polish, I just hope the stamping didn't cover too much of it!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of China Glaze Blue Raspberry Ice, no top coat.

Topped with Dreamland Wrangled At the Rodeo (PPU June 2023).  Love this combination and am so glad I have a back of this polish!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from PY-J036 using MdU 91.

Did double stamping using same image with Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.
