Digit-al Dozen, Love and Heartbreak; Day 3

Here's yet another Valentine's Day themed mani I came up!  Is anyone tired of them yet?  I don't even think I'll get all the V-Day mani's I've done so far posted before Valentine's.....this one's kinda lovey-dovey....

 photo DSC06552_zps12d0bd42.jpg

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Bride's Bouquet and OPI Red My Fortune Cookie; topped with SV.

 photo DSC06544_zpsa22766bd.jpg

Stamped using MM03 (Be Mine wording), SdP 60 (couple on ring), SdP 78 (balloons on thumb), SdP 85 (pattern on pinky) and Big SdP L (images on index and middle fingers) using black, red and white Konad special polishes. I wasn't entirely happy with the way that the index finger stamped so I hand painted it in but didn't do that great of a job unfortunately. Added a few accent hearts here and there as well.

On a side note and totally unrelated to Valentine's, I believe the stamped couple here are the couple from Twilight...Edward and Bella...I have the series of books and movies but have never read or watched them...I don't want to watch the movies until I read the books simply because I like to read a book before watching any movie or anything because I find that a lot in the movies get missed or interpreted differently  then the book, but hey, that's just me.....anyway, just haven't gotten around to it yet...some day!

Digit-al Dozen, Love and Heartbreak, Day 2

I *try* to think outside the box for at least one mani when I'm doing holiday themed mani's.....I don't always do this....and sometimes thinking outside of the box turns out to be a massive failure, but this was a Valentine's Day mani I did with non traditional Valentine's colours that turned out OK!

 photo 2b2229c1-e8e9-472d-8f8d-046a94c983bd_zps45d5ba6b.jpg

Started out with a base of two coats of FingerPaints Black Expressionism (no pix as have shown many times before).  Added a coat of KBShimmer We Three Blings.

Bottle pix of KBShimmer We Three Blings.  This was part of the winter/holiday themed polishes released around Christmas that I had picked up from Harlow & Co. as KBShimmer doesn't ship to Canada (and if I'm not mistaken, it's on sale now at Harlow & Co.).

Digit-al Dozen, Love and Heartbreak, Day 1

This month's Digit-al Dozen theme is Love and Heartbreak....I have so many V-Day mani's to post...they are mainly about Love....but there will be some Heartbreak too....this is the first I came up with!

 photo DSC06641_zps0c1453d1.jpg

Started with a base of one coat of Nicole by OPI Positive Energy, with two coats of OPI Red my Fortune Cookie on accent.

 photo DSC06623_zpse7321364.jpg

Stamped with black Konad special polish using Big SdP L.

 photo DSC06626_zpsbcb6ec4c.jpg

Stamped on accent with Nicole by OPI Positive Energy using plate W203.

 photo DSC06629_zps29e4a4df.jpg

While I didn't mind this, wanted something a little different so I did a test stamp on my thumb with a layer of white.  Liked the results so started the other hand and LOOK AT THIS!

 photo Picture407_zps76a1f5af.jpg

Stamped EXACTLY on top of the first image...I mean, I couldn't do that in a million gazillion years if I wanted to on purpose, never mind that I really wanted it offset!  I was amazed I did this...even though it was unintentional!  (Small things amuse me, obviously!!!)

 photo Picture409_zpsdf9af3ae.jpg

Anyway, I had seen the double stamping had a little bit of potential on my test thumb so stamped the rest of my hand in white, except the thumb, which I added another layer of black for contrast.

IRL, this was pretty cool and funky; however, it kinda looked like a hot mess in this pix....like I was intentionally doing a Jackson Pollack Valentine mani!

Thanks for looking...and here's the other very talented ladies in the group with their Day 1 mani's if you want to take a look!

Sweater Nails + Oopsie Daisies Discontining Some Polishes

At the beginning of December, I had seen a few posts of 'sweater nails'....I thought they were pretty awesome so I decided to do one myself.  Here's the sweater nails mani that I was wearing almost six weeks ago.....and just getting around to posting now!

Picture354-2

Started with a base of two coats of Duri Taming of the Shrew; this pix has no topcoat.

Picture330-2

Added one coat of Oopsie Daisies With A Cherry On Top, then topped with SV. (I think this combo would be a great stamping base for some upcoming Valentine's Day mani's too!)

Picture336-2

Stamped using Konad white special polish using image plate QA15 (didn't do too good of a job on lining these up or stamping unfortunately - the index finger looks more like a frayed sweater!)

Picture349-2

Topped with SV.

Picture366-2

I seen a update recently that Oopsie Daisies is discontinuing a few of shades to make room for new ones in upcoming months; one of them is Oopsie Daisies Festivus For The Rest of Us**.  This is a mani I did on January 19th; Oopsie Daisies Festivus for the Rest of Us on top of Revlon Colorstay Bold Sangria that I had picked up that week when Revlon's were on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Picture309-2

Started with a base of two coats of Revlon Colorstay Bold Sangria.

Picture302-2

Added a coat of Oopsie Daisies and topped with SV.

Picture313-2

For information about the polishes Oopsie Daisies is discontinuing; please go here....you can check out Oopsie Daisies Etsy shop here.  A few polishes are on sale including Festivus for the Rest of Us, Carols by Candlelight and Keepin' it Kosher; mani's I've done with the last two are here.  I've also done a mani with Soldier Of Fashion which is also being discontinued....and here's another mani I did using With A Cherry On Top too...it too is on the discontinued list.

Thanks for looking!

**Edited 15 mins after posting to add that Oopsie Daisies polishes were sent for review (forgot to mention!).  Please refer to disclosure policy for further information.

Super Bowl Nails!

Llarowe announced a Super Bowl contest on Saturday so I decided to put something together Sunday morning as an entry.  I didn't start the mani until 12:30 pm and with an entry deadline of 2 pm (EST), it didn't leave me with a whole lot of time to do them (I spent most of the time looking for image plates to use!) so here's the entry but I didn't have time to take pix as I went along as I normally do!

Picture202_zpsb71e646e-2

Started with a base of OPI Bride's Bouquet (white), Manhattan 610K (purple) and FingerPaints Black Expressionism (black).  I did a tape mani with the three colours on the thumb.

Stamped using CND Gold Chrome and royal purple, black and white Konad stamping polish using CH35 (helmet, leg and football on index), HD04 (raven on ring), MJ IV (#1 on pinky), and m52 (large footballs on thumb).  Hand painted the B onto the helmet using the royal purple Konad polish.  Added random stars using fauxnad m06 using CND Gold Chrome and royal purple Konad special polish.  Topped with SV.

 photo Picture199_zps04a2ea26.jpg

Llarowe announced the winners earlier today and my mani was chosen as an honourable mention winner for the Ravens! You can check out my entry and the winners here!  There's a lot of fabulous entries...and so much creativity!!!

Thanks very much to llarowe for making this contest available....it was a lot of fun putting it together....and congrats to all the winners!

Happy Groundhog Day!

Today's Groundhog Day....it's the day we find out if there is 6 weeks of winter or if we are in for an early spring based upon if the local groundhog sees his shadow. Here's the mani I came up with!

Picture180_zps16b5c77a-2

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Polar Bare; topped with SV.

Picture165_zpsa9b45082-2

Stamped using yellow and white Konad special polish using fauxnad D for the sun and clouds and black Konad using SdP 47 for the groundhog.

Picture167_zpscf0bdf78-2

Filled in the groundhog image with black Konad to mimic the shadow.

Picture168_zpsb4cb6857-2

Added a bit of grass using Orly Green Apple and Colorblast by Orly Raging Vine.

Picture174_zps6d112f76-2

Topped with SV.

Picture177_zps7726fdad-2

In my area, the local groundhog forecaster, Wiarton Willie, didn't see his shadow which is suppose to mean an early spring.  (Apparently if he does see his shadow, its six more weeks of winter...but accordingly to the local newspaper, the groundhogs in other parts of the world seen their shadow, so there's conflicting reports out there!)  I guess we'll see in a few weeks how accurate Wiarton Willie's forecast is!

Hope you're having a great weekend...and thanks for looking!
