Digit-al Dozen REDOES Fashion; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  We are redoing fashion which was a theme we did way back in August 2013. For Day 1's look, I did my nails to match a shirt I had just bought; it's not high fashion by any means but went well with my outfit!  Here's what I came up with!

This the design on the shirt that I was matching my nails to!

Started with a base of two coats of Girly Bits SBP 05.11.1 (forgot to take pix), then did sponged gradient using Girly Bits You're My Hooper Hero and Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is!

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using MoYou Tropical Collection-18 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.  I find the MoYou plates work well with the clear stampers so placed the images using the DRK clear stamper to help with placement.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

Summer Bright Nails!

I know this mani is easy peasy but I love how simple stamping can be and there are a lot of days when easy peasy is just what I need with my hectic life!

Started with a base of two coats of Illamasqua Lament, no top coat.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

For the easy peasy stamping, used an image from Nail Matinee NM 07 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  I love this image and have used it a couple times now but it kinda freaks me out as it looks so much like an eyeball! Might be cool for some Halloween/scary mani's though!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July if you are celebrating!  I did these nails yesterday; I didn't plan it very well as I only had one set of plates with me (Apipila) and limited polishes so had to come up with an Independence Day mani using what I had on hand but was pretty happy how these turned out considering!

Started with a base of two coats of Quo by Orly Mega Silver with an accent of Barielle Bold n Confident topped with an unnamed Pixel polish (the name might have been on the bottle but I couldn't make it out if it was!)  While not shown, topped everything off with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

I have to say, stamping this was a pain in the arse!  The image with the lines is from Apipila p.06.  As you probably know, straight lines with squishy stamper equals crooked lines, so took many attempts with several stampers to get them straight.  I didn't have many stamping polishes with me and no navy ones, so searching through what I had on hand and after trying out a few, ended up using Maybelline Navy Narcissist for the stripes, which dried super fast.  Even after closing all the windows and turning off the fan, dried at the speed of lighting!  Some nails took many attempts to get all the lines stamped and a few, the tailings at the end wrecked the image and had to redo.  But I managed to eventually get them stamped as good as was going to happen!

I was only able to stamp about 4 stars in total before the clear jelly stamper head I was using totally disintegrated.  So had to do the best I could with a regular stamper for the rest.

Finished the remaining stars at the tips using red Konad special polish with an image from Apipila Kids A. This might have been the end look if I wasn't able to stamp the line of stars decently on the accent.

Stamped stars from same image plate on accent; the first row turned out OK so decided to do a few more.

I was able to line up a second and third row of stars decently for the end result.

Topped everything off with a final coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

This is final mani in the sun; the shade pix are more accurate though but the sun makes the silver really sparkle!

Enjoy the 4th if you are celebrating!

Happy Canada Day!

I'm a little late in sharing my Canada Day nails on the blog, but they were up on IG and FB on Canada Day!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls then topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I had asked Girly Bits to make a red and white microglitter last year to use for Canada Day nails but i I didn't have time last year to use it, so for sure, wanted to use it for Canada Day nails this year.  Sponged on Girly Bits Red, White & Glitter All Over on all nails but middle; used Canadian Nail Fanatic 001 with Fig Tree Stamps stamped with red Konad stamping polish for the middle.

I had another custom plate made which included some more Canada designs!  This is my custom plate Canadian Nail Fanatic 002 with Fig Tree Stamps!

Stamped using CNF 001 with Fig Tree Stamps images using red Konad special polish.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.

I did my right hand slightly different using CNF 001 and CNF 002 with Fig Tree Stamps; please excuse the cuticle mess!  I was really rushed to do these nails!

Hope my fellow Canadians had a wonderful Canada Day!

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbows; Day 5

Here I am again super late for Day 5 Digit-al Dozen rainbow challenge so sorry about that; this mani is also doing double duty for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas does summer challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

Started by making a couple stamper decals using an image from Infinity 34 and acrylic paints.  I made two because wasn't sure which one would turn out better on the nail but glad that I did as I ended up cutting them and using them both because the images were too large for one nail.

Did a coat of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on three fingers then attempted some water marbling using Pipe Dream Polish High Roller, All In, 110 Degrees, Light of Day and Peace Out.

I had planned on using a full stamper decal on the thumb but when the image was too big, decided to cut it down and used half on the thumb and then the other half along with some of the clouds on the middle.  So had to add base polishes to both these nails; the middle is again OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and the thumb is Polish M A Quiet Mind.

Used both stamper decals.

Stamped index finger using MoYou 408 and MoYou Tourist Collection-17 on ring and pinky.  The birds on the thumb are also from MoYou Tourist 17.  Stamping polish is FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Digit-al Dozen Does Rainbows; Day 4

For Day 4 of Digit-al Dozen rainbow challenge, I'm sharing a mani with all the colours under the rainbow! (Well, except the red is more pink but we allow our own individual interpretation of the theme so it's still good, right?).  Its a bit of a stretch but I did see some other DD ladies using pastels and neons earlier in the week so I guess I can too even thought I think I've been fairly literal with the theme so far.  Not that that's an issue; we can each interpret the theme as we wish and there's lots of flexibility; I just don't think I'm as creative as the rest! Haha! Here's what I came up with!

The night I did these nails, I had no particular thought or theme or colour or anything in mind...well, that's most nights lol!  So I was searching my stash looking for something that might strike me and came across KBShimmer Upside Round. It's fun and bright and colourful, perfect for our summer weather lately and its what stuck me that night.  So grabbed it and then decided it was going to be part of the mani, but had to come up with base colour(s).  My first thought was neon pink or skittles but then thought that if I use pink for example, then the pink glitter dots wouldn't show up.  So thought that the colours would pop on a black base, so did two coats of FunkyFingers Dark Knight topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Did an accent of KBShimmer Upside Road by applying it on a latex sponge then sponging it on until I was happy with the coverage.

I wanted to stamp on dots in the same colours as the glitter dots so stamped using assortment of MdU polishes using an image from Delaney French A001....but it just wasn't what I was looking for (this is why I always do my right hand first; its my test hand!) with the main concern being I wanted a brighter pop of colour to match the glitter.  The thumb is MdU Neon Yellow for example; had it really stamped neon yellow, it would be golden, but...well, you see.

Delaney French A001

So I thought how can I save this mani considering I already have an accent of glitter on my nails....so decided to do some glitter fishing and placement for a funky french with an orange stick using the same glitter from KBShimmer Upside Round.  Topped it with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC to finish.
