Digit-al Dozen: Festiveness, Day 5

When it came down to the last day of the challenge (which I'm late in posting!), I thought what can be more festive than a few different ways to say Merry Christmas?  So this is the mani I'm sharing now, which is the stamping I had done when I originally did the mani featuring Oopsie Daisies Carols by Candlelight a couple posts ago.....which was a perfect festive backdrop!

Oopsie Daisies Carols by Candlelight, by itself, two coats, topped with SV.

When I received Oopsie Daisies Carols by Candlelight the first thing that came to my mind was Christmas.  Simple.  Pure.  Christmas.  Are there any other colours that scream Christmas more than green, red and white?

DSC05687-2

Started with a base of Sinful Colors Exotic Green.  This is two coats, no topcoat.  I thought this was a fabulous green base, perfect for some holiday nails....until I took it off a couple days later and seen the horror of green staining despite two layers of base coat.

DSC05684-2

Added a layer of Oopsie Daisies Carols by Candlelight, then a coat of SV.

DSC05696-2

In case I haven't said this enough already, this simply is Christmas in a bottle.  So I was thinking Christmas, holidays, trees, wreaths...but the day I went to wear this, I had already done a wreath and tree mani just a few days before and wanted to add some different type of stampings.  So, again, with Christmas on the brain, I thought, what more appropriate stamping than an assortment of ways to say Merry Christmas.  And sure enough, I was able to find an assortment of images along these lines. Edited to add plates which I forgot!  Holly is W220, thumb Merry Christmas and Noel on middle is Dash 11, Happy Holidays on ring is W215, Feliz Natal on middle is Apipila 05, pinky Merry Christmas and Seasons Greetings on index is W233.

Happy Festivus Festiveness....Merry Christmas.....Noel....no matter how you say it; enjoy the Season!

Here's the other mani's from Day 5 to check out!

Digit-al Dozen: Festiveness Day 4

I got a couple new plates in the mail yesterday, which happen to be fulllll of holiday images, so I thought I'd try them out for Day 4 of the challenge.  Here's what I came up with.

DSC05869-2

Started with a base of three coats of Spa Ritual Marble; this pix has topcoat.  I had bought Marble as I was looking for a different white base other than my usual white creme...forgetting I already own Nicole By OPI It's All About The Glam!  Well, now I have two sparkle/shimmery whites to use as stamping bases!

DSC05862-2

Stamped using FUN green, red and blue metallic stamping polishes, using SdP 83 (ring), HD07 (middle), Nailways 0002 (pinky), Sugar Bubbles Special 01 (thumb) and SdP 59 (index).

DSC05864-2

Topped with SV (I applied a little too much on the middle finger and it wrinkled when it was wet but it did dry flat).

NewImage-55-2

A pix of after it dried ....the middle finger wrinkles dried pretty well.  (This pix was taken a few hours after I had finished...and after I had broken the middle nail.)

DSC05876-2

Here's a couple pix of the Sugar Bubbles special plates.  Oodles of holiday images on them!

Sugar Bubbles can be found on Facebook here.

Here's the other ladies Day 4 mani's if you'd like to check them out...so much creativity in the group!

Digit-al Dozen-Festiveness; Day 3

Am I the only one that thinks Festivus when I see Festiveness?  I type it every time I type Festivus  Festiveness.  Too much Seinfield back in the day, I suppose....anyhoo, this is my mani for Day 3 of the challenge (my second mani as I missed first day!)

NewImage-9-2

I was trying to come up with something a little different just to mix it up instead of the more typical greens, reds, whites and blues that are more seasonal right now!

Started with a base of two coats of China Glaze Let's Do It In 3-D, no topcoat.  It dried fairly fast and after about 5 minutes, I was able to do the stamping.

DSC05834-2

Stamped with black Konad special polish using an assortment of images (BM222, large g-men on thumb; Nailways0002, small g-men on thumb as well as pinky; OMG XL, ring finger g-man; HD08-middle finger g-man; and AT01 on index).

DSC05846-2

Added a few randomly placed stars from T37 using red Konad special polish.

DSC05850-2

Topped with Sally Hansen quick dry.

DSC05854-2

When I was out and about this morning doing some Christmas shopping, the sun came out so I snapped a few pix (when I was parked, of course!).

It was a thrill to be asked to join the Digit-al Dozen for their monthly challenges and this is my first time participating...unfortunately, I failed because the group does five consecutive daily posts starting yesterday; and for a variety of reasons, I wasn't able to post.  So I'm joining up with the group today and I'll be sharing four out of five days this month!

Here's the mani I came up with!

DSC05830-2

Started with a base of two coats of China Glaze Adventure Red-y and Ulta Green and Wear it, topped with SV.

DSC05817-2

Stamped using Konad white special polish using an assortment of image plates (Apipila 05-angel on middle finger, W232-wreath on index; SdP 56-bells on thumb, fauxnad E03-holly on thumb, QA19-small bells on index and random snowflakes and Nailways- ornaments on pinky, gingerbread man and tree on index, candle on thumb).

DSC05822-2

Added a few random dots using yellow Konad special polish for a splash of colour.

DSC05828-2

Topped with SV.

DSC05833-2

A few of the other ladies in the group have the inlinkz posted at the bottom of their posts but I haven't figure it out yet (hopefully I will for tomorrows post! lol) but I do urge you to check out their posts which should all join up at the link!   There's a lot of awesomeness in these.....the creativity is phenomenal!

This is the final week of Nail Polish Canada's Challenge; this weeks theme is Trim the Tree.  I decided on something simple...just some garland that would trim a Christmas tree.  Here's what I came up with.

DSC05803-2

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Bride's Bouquet. (No pix as I've shown it numerous times before). Added Orly Halo for some glitter interest.  This pix has no tc.

DSC05787-2

Stamped using Sally Hansen Jumpin' Jade using SdP 83.

DSC05793-2

Dotted in some holly berries using Konad red special polish.

DSC05797-2

Oopsie Daisies Wintertime Wonders Review-Part One

Oopsie Daisies recently launched Wintertime Wonders.  These are two of the four polishes in the collex; Keepin' It Kosher and Carols by Candlelight.

DSC05691-2

This is one coat of Oopsie Daisies Carols by Candlelight over two coats of Sinful Colors Exotic Green, which is shown below, no topcoat.

DSC05684-2

Carols by Candlelight simply screams Christmas in a bottle to me!!!

DSC05687-2

I wore this out Christmas shopping last weekend and received soooo many compliments!  It was very eye catching with all the holiday colours!

When I was browsing google reader for updates on blogs I follow, I seen My Nail Graffiti was also wearing this recently and her combination of Carols by Candlelight over Orly Au Champagne is stunning!  To be honest, the first base colour that came to mind when I seen the polish was green, as it reminds me of mistletoe, Christmas trees, wreaths.....but it looks fantastic over a lighter colour as well!

Keepin' It Kosher is another glitter that's part of the Wintertime Wonders collex.

DSC05620-2

I've shown it here over two coats of Ulta Blue Streak (please excuse my boo-boo!).

DSC05610-2

Bottle shot.  Some of the glitter looks black in the pix but there is no black glitter at all in it, fyi.

Photobucket

Of course, I couldn't resist some stamping!  Stamped using white Konad special polish with image D01.

Part Two of the Wintertime Wonders collex will be posted soon!

NPC Challenge: Gifts

Nail Polish Canada's challenge is in week two; this weeks challenge was gifts...presents and stockings to reflect the gifts you may want.  This is what I came up with.

DSC05731-4

I should explain here that this really isn't what I would like for Christmas...I think Christmas is more about the kids (must be the mother of three in me!) so when it came time to do my mani, I thought more along the lines of kids and Christmas.  The bright colours, the presents and Santa and his sleigh full of gifts!

Started with a base of colourful skittles starting at thumb and going clockwise, OPI Bride's Bouquet, Duri Taming of the Shrew, China Glaze Happy Go Lucky, Sinful Exotic Green and Sation Board Girl Blue, all two coats.

DSC05713-2

Stamped using fauxnad XL K (sleigh and presents), OB42 (teddy bear), HD9 (stocking) and W215 (tree on pinky) using black, red, royal purple and white Konad special polish and Sally Hansen Inta-dri Jumpin' Jade. I actually had a whole bunch of toy images set aside to add to the mani....unfortunately, only had so many fingers so did a universal bear that both boys and girls would like!

DSC05719-2

Added some colourful dots using assortment of Konad stamping polishes.

Topped with SV.
