Digit-al Dozen Does Indie Love; Day 5

Happy Friday the 13th!!!  Hopefully a black cat will not cross your path today, you don't step on a crack, walk under a ladder or break any mirrors!

This is my final indie love challenge mani for Digit-al Dozen featuring black cats for Friday the 13th on a blue indie polish base as again, only sharing blue mani's for April in support of Autism Awareness. Here's what I came up with!

Started with a smooshy stamper base using assortment of indie polishes:  Girly Bits Denim & Diamonds, Girly Bits Blue Christmas, KBShimmer Sky Jinks, KBShimmer In Yacht Water, KBShimmer My Life's Porpoise and Moyra SP. 22.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Moyra Stamping Plate 51 - Friends using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Moyra Stamping Plate 51 - Friends.  If you have a fondness for cats, this is the plate for you!

Stamped accent using Fig Tree Stamps with CNF 002, another image from Moyra Stamping Plate 51-Friends and Delaney Chats & Chiens 001 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Delaney Chats & Chiens 001.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The next morning, I decided to topcoat the mani with OPI Matte as there was so much shine on the pictures that they didn't show that well to me.  If that makes sense lol.  I liked how they turned out matte too, especially the distressed base look.

Hopefully you've enjoyed all the indie love mani's this week!  Here's the other ladies day 5 mani's!

Digit-al Dozen Does Indie Love; Day 4

For Day 4 of Digit-al Dozen indie love theme, I'm sharing a few indie products; indie stamping plates and indie stamping polishes.  Nails are blue again as I'm only sharing blue mani's for the month of April for Autism Awareness month.  Here's what I came up with!

This was my first foray using the gradient image on Lina Make Your Mark 03.  Not very successful but I always share the good with the bad.  This is a gradient using MoYou Beach House and MoYou Deep Ocean.  This is a big fail to me; to be honest, I can't even say I've mastered (or even gotten better) at the stamping gradient as any gradients I've done since this (and this is almost a year old), I've just done the more traditional way using a sponge.  I would love that this would work better for me, or even with the fan brush as it would make gradients so much faster, but I honestly have never tried it since.

Topped with a layer of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I was thoroughly disgusted with my gradient attempt but as I had already invested my time in doing it, I thought I had better see if I could save it.  So stamped on top of it using another image from Lina Make Your Mark 03 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

This too was a fail as somehow I ended stamping something on my ring finger.  Gaaaa!  So needed to cover THAT up, so stamped using yet another image from Lina Make Your Mark 03 using MoYou Deep Ocean.

While this finally didn't make the nails an utter fail, I thought the nails STILL needed something more.  So stamped for the fourth and final time using an image from Marianne nails n.62 using Moyra SP 05.  I think this is also the first time that I've done a quadruple layered stamped mani (other than when I've stamped single images randomly on nails; then I've probably done 20 or more stamps but this is actually layer on top of layer on top of layer on top of layer. Whew!)

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  I do have to say that I really like how this ended up, it was just quite a bit of work getting there.  Just goes to show that with a bit of work, you can save a nail fail lol!

Digit-al Dozen Does Indie Love; Day 3

Some simply yet effective stamping for Day 3 of Digit-al Dozen indie love challenge!

Started with a base of two coats of Picture Polish Superior, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Creative Shop 26 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  I love this image; super cool yet allows lots of the base polish to shine through!

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Indie Love; Day 2

For Day 2 of Indie Love challenge for Digit-al Dozen week, I have these two stunning blues from KBShimmer!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer Double Pog Dare You.  While I did two coats just from habit, this could have been a one coater.  I love this vibrant blue creme; it is simply stunning!

Did a gradient using KBShimmer No Wave!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Big SdP B using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Digit-al Dozen Does Indie Love; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week!  This month's theme is Indie Love and it's a trifecta for me----indies, blue and Digit-al Dozen; three of my favourite polish things!  I'm still sharing blue mani's for Autism Awareness month so all the indies you'll be seeing from me for the challenge will be some shade of blue!  Here's what I came up with for Day 1!

Started with a base of two coats of Cupcake Polish Bat-chelor Pad, no top coat.  I love this moody blue and decided to wear it a couple weeks ago with my shorties as I love wearing darker colours when my nails are on the short side! There were no application issues at all with this polish, it wasn't finicky in any way and clean up was a breeze even though the colour is so dark.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped with an image from Sugar Bubbles SB052 using Funky Fingers Gesso.

Added a few dots for colour and interest using Misa Hanging With The Girls.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Pretty Serious Elliott

I love these circular dots on Infinity 106!  It is one of those perfect stamping images to me; cool that it's an interesting image but lets the base polish shine through!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Pretty Serious Elliott.  *Swoon*  It's no secret that I love blues and this is a favourite for sure!  I love the brightness of it and that shimmer just takes it to the next level for me!

Topped with a coat of CbL PDQ TC.

Stamped with Infinity 106 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Added a couple metal studs on accent.

Topped with CbL PDQ to finish.  Unfortunately, I had major smear here.  I wasn't that familiar with the CbL PDQ TC as hadn't used a whole lot; I'm guessing I didn't have enough on the brush to glide it over the image and then had polish drag which was probably my application error.

Glam Wavy Lines!

I'm going to be sharing blue mani's all month long in support of Autism Awareness month!  I have oodles of mani's in archives as I do my nails way more than I post.  I have over 30 blue mani's uploaded so I will be able to post all month long!  If I'm being honest, it is unlikely that I will be able to post each and every day so there will still be some left over to share at another time even! Anyway, let the blue mani's begin! Or continue I suppose, as my last post was also a blue mani!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Glam Polish Break the Ice, no top coat.

Using an image from Apipila P.38, stamped using MdU 3 and 30, as well as FunkyFingers Gesso.  It's been a while since I did these nails (July 28 2015 to be exact!) and looking at them, I thought I had used vinyls for these.  But in fact, after checking my notes, just lined up the colours on the image and scraped sideways.  I should have known better, my mani's with vinyls usually don't turn out that well.

Apipila P.38.  The lines are far enough apart that each line can be a different colour without any intermingling when you stamp.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on top.
