Happy (Belated) Canada Day!

I'm late with my post but I sure do hope all my fellow Canadians had a fabulous Canada Day!  I had shared these on IG and had planned to share on the blog, etc. on July 1st but unfortunately, the wifi connection wasn't that great in cottage country for me to finish my blog post.  Plus I was too busy enjoying the beautiful weather and the Canada Day festivities!  So here are my (late) Canada Day nails!

As you can see, my nails are shorter than I usually wear them.  This is because my middle nail had a crack way at the cuticle that has been growing out for weeks; perhaps even months, it's so long I cannot remember lol.  I had been able to hold it with a couple coats of Salon Sciences Fiber Network until the crack grew out to the free edge but then it began snagging on items so I had to cut it down so it wouldn't tear badly, then cut down the rest of them.  The middle is a little shorter than I like but the rest are a length that I wear often and if you have followed my blog for a while you know that long, short, hang nail or not, I still do and share my nails.  (Also, really bad timing for my Indie Expo Canada 2018 reviews which is why not much has been posted.) So even thought the middle nail is a traitor, I still did my nails...too many plates and polishes to let a short nail get me down!  I was originally going to keep my nails pretty neutral to detract from the middle shorty, but then I thought, hey, it's Canada's birthday and the weekend is going to be a scorcher; I need bling!  This is two coats of Different Dimension Kiss Me Under The Light of a Thousand Stars, two coats.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Konad red special polish using images from CJS True North Strong.  Thank goodness for the CJS Big Bling stamper for placement!  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Unfortunately, all that bling and topcoat didn't translate well into pictures so this is my picture in the kitchen immediately when I finished; you can see the stamping a little bit better!

I then left for work and O. M. G. the holo really was showing while I was sitting in my car waiting for the AC to kick in; hello holo!

I wore these nails from June 28th right through until July 3rd until I did 4th of July nails; they were the perfect nails (to me anyway!!!!) to celebrate the long Canada Day weekend especially with the hot, sunny days!

No Canada Day would be complete without the mandatory red and white Canada Day treat, vanilla ice cream and fresh, local strawberries!  Yum Yum!  Let's just say I had this for dessert on more days than the one!

Thanks for looking!

  1. I have trouble with my middle nails, too ... I guess because they stick out more so I more often bump those fingers into stuff when I'm reaching and not paying attention.

    Lovely mani as always!
