Not Quite Roses

I had seen on instagram that @girlienails66 ( think it was) had posted about some great polish deal finds at Shoppers Drug Mart so I ventured into my local SDM to see what I could find and while I didn't get as good of a deal as her (she paid $3 for her polishes; mine were $5), I didn't do too badly.  Not that I need anymore polishes...but that's another story!  But I can never resist a good deal lol.  I did a mani later in the evening with them; here's what I came up with!

Did a sponged gradient using Quo by Orly X's and O'x, Quo by Orly Girly Girl and Quo Flashdry RSVP.  Who would have thought that would colours would have produced a decent looking gradient??  I actually really liked how it faded into the gradient; I think this might be a cool base for some Valentine's Day nails!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

UC 26-01

Stamped using UberChic UC 26-01 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  They don't quite look like roses which would have been more appropriate for this colour but I had done rose nails not too long before that so didn't want to do something so similar shortly after.  But this is a pretty cool design anyway!

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I had a little polish drag which is so irritating even though I waited a bit to apply topcoat; I didn't have a pre-apply non-smear topcoat with me as I did these nails at my weekend place, but you an be sure I brought a bottle this weekend!

Purple Reigns Supreme!

I've been doing a lot of simple manis for a while now as I don't have much time to spend to do my nails.  So have been doing quite a bit of layering with some simple, yet effective stamping.  This is another one of these manis and I have to say, it turned out great!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Girly Bits She's Got Grape Tips (COTM February 2017), no top coat.

Topped with Polished For Days Fire Rainbow (PPU August 2020).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using LilyAnna 13 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Hit The Bottle Vintage Grunge 01 using MdU 68, Painted Polish Stamped in Cinderelly and Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Don't these just scream summer??!!  Fun and bright; they are a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Wet My Thistle topped with Lush Lacquer Tropical Kisses, with accent of OPI Kiss Me, I'm Brazilian.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using What's Up Nails A019 (lines) and Lina 4 Seasons - Summer 02 (flowers).

Dotted floral centers using MdU 80.

Baby Blues!

This is one of those mani's that you don't want to stamp over, but that goes against every grain in your being as you think I must stamp on every mani!  So I did the next best thing; picked an image that you could still see the base shine through!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Rogue Lacquer The Sky is Falling; two coats, no top coat.  This was initially offered in December 2020 Polish Pickup and I also picked up a backup bottle at July's rewind.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I didn't want to cover this up, but went with an image with lots of interest yet lets the beauty of the base shine through and used Infinity 157, using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Another Bee Mani!

It's hard to bee-lieve that we are in the tail end of summer already!  I don't know about you, but I have bee-n so buzz-y, that hive hardly had much chance to enjoy the few nice days we've had!  I hope we have nice summer weather for a few more months...or I'm not as busy as a bee so I can enjoy the last few dayzzz!

Here's another bee mani I did not too long ago!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie You Know the Espadrille, no top coat.

CYO x Maniology M093

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Sol Amazing, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Creative Shop 177 (pinky and index), Clear Jelly Stamper Cjs 68 (middle) and Maniology CYO x Maniology M093 (thumb and small bees on middle) using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did Ms. Cindy a little different.

Natural light.

I also topped the mani with a matte top coat to see all those flakies shine and I have to say, I'm not sure which version I like better; matte or shiny!
