Fluid Art Friday!

I haven't done fluid art in a while.  I've been wanting to participate in the Friday colour collage challenges for #FluidFridayFriends but just haven't had time due to other commitments, mainly work getting home late, then trying to do laundry, grocery shopping, etc. (aka, every chore I do on the weekends usually) as I'm away most weekends from May to October. Hopefully, I'll get back to it in the fall and over the winter!  I did this fluid back in April and thought I'd share it now!

This is the fluid decal that I had made with DYI fluid polish.  Unfortunately, I didn't keep track of the polishes used.

Applied the portions of the decal on my nails.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I wanted an interesting image but not so much coverage that it covered the base fluid cells so stamped using an image from Marianne Nails n.46 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Going Through the Archives

I have a pretty good number of archived mani's and while I'm still sharing newer ones, I would like to get these older ones posted.  I've been posting some here and there for a little while now.  Typically these are manis that might be a little simpler to do because I did them just because I like to change my nails so often yet don't have too much time but hopefully they might be of interest to someone.  I like to see sometimes just how an image looks on the nails from a plate that I haven't used so if nothing else, this may help someone.  Or maybe create a new polish lemming for someone, who knows! Here's one from last May last year!

Started with a base of Glam Polish Chamber of Secrets, no top coat.

Stamped with an image from Marianne Nails n.23 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

#FluidArtFriday/#FluidFridayFriends

It's fluidartfriday and I did these nails based upon the colour palette that was chosen for the #fluidartfriends group this week over on IG.  Here's what I came up with!

This is the colour pallette this week!
These were the polishes used.  I added a light pink shimmer as I like the shimmer look in my decals. They are Sally Hansen Miracle GelSugar Fix, Savvy Fairy Twinkle, OPI Another Ramen-tic Evening, Sally Hansen CSM Mardi Grape and Zoya Jana.

Even though I had a bottle of clear DYI fluid polish and used it successfully in the past, it just didn't seem to create as many cells this time round so I had to do a few different decals to get enough cell images that I was happy with.

I cut out the parts of the decals that I was going to use.

Applied them to my nail.  I made these decals Wednesday night and applied last night (Thursday); they were the easiest decals I have ever worked with for removal and pliability (is that even a word??!!).  I guess because they were fresh they moved nicely on the nail and were bendable; I had been making decals and using them weeks later so they were much more brittle and the cleanup was terrible!  I am really sorry about my nasty cuticles right now; I'm going through a bad spell lately and have been to doctor about them; I'm on the verge of eczema on my hands and nothing seems to be working and they are particularly poor right now; colour wise as well as all nasty looking from dry skin and me trying to remove it, etc etc.  The paper cut on my ring finger doesn't help lol.  And you can't see it, but I also scraped my knuckle on my index finger last weekend opening a gate.  Hopefully you can overlook the skin for the nail art design!  It's not going to stop me from doing my nails; I have been dealing with it for a while now and I guess if it is so offensive, please don't look at my medias out there.  If I knew how to photo shop, I would, but I don't, so I can't!  I can't do anything about it as no creams, etc. seem to be working, medicated or otherwise, but I do hope it clears eventually!  And yes, they are as sore as they look!  I've been trying not to do my nails as often but the nail fanatic in me still wants to do my nails!  So I've been doing them but haven't really been sharing them when they are at their worst, except today which is pretty much as bad as they have been.  It doesn't help using all the acetone to remove the decal parts but can't be helped.  What we suffer for our art!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Of course I stamped them; double stamped using Painted Polish Stamped in Rose and MdU 2 using images from Marianne Nails XXL 6.  I wanted to do all nails with the floral design but it seemed to block the base too much so used another image on the rest of the nails.

Teal Floral

I realized that I think I have a think for floral mani's and then dotting the centers of them because I seem to do it quite often.  I guess that's one of my things for nails.  Could be worse, I suppose lol. Anyway, here's another floral mani with dots!

Started with a base of Lippman Video Killed The Radio Star, topped with a coat of Level Up Lacquer Lazarus (April 2018 PPU), no top coat.  Not sure why I didn't share the Lippmann by itself, but I checked the camera roll; I didn't even take a picture of it which seems odd but too late now to do anything about it.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Marianne Nails XXL 9 using MdU 1.

Added a few dots for colour and interest using MdU 106.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I realize that this isn't a true blue mani but more teal, but close enough for me!  It's in the spectrum!

Skittle Sweater Nails

I'm trying to get my backlog of winter-ish mani's posted while they are still relevant. Relevant-ish anyway! lol.  I did these nails in the middle of our extremely cold winter.  Even though we haven't hit warm temperatures yet, I guess I have to be thankful it isn't as cold as the temperatures we had over the winter.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Noodles Polish Whimsical Winter Woods (December 2018 PPU).

Bottle shot of Noodles Nail Polish Whimsical Winter Woods.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 106, 112, 9, 37 and 13 (starting at thumb and going clockwise) using image from Marianne Nails n.53.

Pink Smooshy Floral

It looks all nice and warm outside today but it is still chilly!  Hopefully spring will arrive soon!  If only the weather was as hot as these nails!  lol.  Here's to wishing for some warmer weather soon!

Started with a smooshy stamper base using Nubar Amazon Coral, Strawberry, Caribbean Coral and FunkyFingers Gesso.  I just was thinking over the weekend that smooshy stamper method is probably one of my favourite ways to create a base for nail art.  You get some interesting base designs for not much effort.  Except cleanup!  I guess it is the next best thing for those who can't water marble (like me!)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Konad The Most Popular Pattern with floral accents using Marianne Nails XXL 7 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I did Ms. Cindy just a little different; still like how she turned out though!

Starting The Month Off On A Green Note!

I'm going to start March off with a green mani; love how this turned out!  The whole month won't be green but I do have a few St. Patrick's Day mani's already done and will be sharing them between now and the 17th!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats each of Different Dimension Retrograde with an accent of Cirque Polish Urbanized.  I like how the holo flash in the Different Dimension compliments the accent nail well!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added a couple accent studs.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails XXL8 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  A great image to let the base polish shine through!

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Bright Nails!

I love wearing bright nails and wore these in the fall when the weather was overcast after wearing a string of more muted shades.  I loved how they turned out and they certainly brighten my day!

Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Girly Bits Hot Stuff, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails XXL 8 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I love bright nails and these were exactly what I was going for when I sat down and did them!
