Butterflies!

Continuing with sharing spring nails, as it is that time of year, I'm sharing these butterfly nails.  I know, butterflies usually show up in the summer, but we can dream of warmer weather, can't we?  For these, I went with a little tone on tone stamping, then added dots for a pop of colour!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base three coats of Painted Polish Keepin' It Krill, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Fab Ur Nails FUN 6 using MdU 49, 68 and 78.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added a few dots using Painted Polish Stamped in Taro.

Digit-al Dozen Does Monochrome; Day 1..plus DD Giveaway!

It's the first Digit-al Dozen Challenge for 2014 but before I get onto the nails, please make sure you go way down to the bottom of this post for the raffleopter for the new Digit-al Dozen Giveaway!  There are lots and lots of awesome prizes; the contest is open internationally; however, for some of the prizes, shipping is US only so please be sure to read the rules and regs for more information!  Good luck to everyone!

Here's the mani I came up with for Day 1 of the DD monochrome challenge. (Please excuse these pix if the cleanup isn't the best or my pix are fuzzy; I have eye infection in both eyes and everything is fuzzy all the time so I can't tell even while I'm posting these pictures if the image is clear or fuzzy!)

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and top coated (no pix as have shown many times).  Sponged using Barry M Grey.

Added lighter gray sponging using Sinful Colors Cool Gray.

Added stamped image from FUN 6 using FUN black stamping polish.

Topped with SV to finish.

Christmas Eve Excitment

It's the last week for the Nail Polish Canada contest; this weeks theme is Holiday Memories.  While there are a whole lot of memories about the holidays that are dear to me, the most anticipated, as a kid and for my kids, is Santa coming on Christmas Eve.  I remember the excited feeling well when I was a child; and my kids were no different, being so excited on Christmas Eve with the anticipation that Santa was coming!  Well, if they have been good, that is!  They always put out milk and cookies for Santa (and a carrot for Rudolph!) then off to bed, fighting sleep so they could hear him coming down the chimney...of course, they are always sleeping when he arrives!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Duri Taming of the Shrew and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then topped with SV.

Added assortment of images; Big Sdp P (thumb), Chez Xmas 001 (index), Bunny HD-F (middle), FUN 6 (ring) and Fauxnad K (pinky) using black and white Konad special polishes.

Added a few accent images from Chez Xmas 001 using white and red Konad polishes.

Topped with SV to finish.

Here's a look at Bunny Nails HD-F.

Here's the entries for the Nail Polish Canada; please vote for your favourite if you are so inclined!

Hope you had a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Wood Grain Look Using FUN 6

Another quick mani that I did not too long ago when pressed for time but wanted a change. Did the usual; pick a holographic polish, stamp using a full size image and voila, new nails in no time flat!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI DS Classic, no topcoat.

Stamped using FUN 6 with FUN black stamping polish.  This black stamping polish was opaque and cleanup was a breeze!  I have a mental note to order more the next time new plates are released.....it's my new favourite black stamping polish!

Topped with SV.

While this pix is a little blurry, you can see a little holographic glitter shine through.

A pix the next day in the sun.

Here's a look at the images on FUN 6 by FAB UR NAILS.

(This was another mani destined for The Hangnail Series lol!)

Hope you had a great weekend....a long weekend for those of us who are off on the Civic Holiday!
