Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns; Day 4

This is a pretty simple mani that throws a pretty good punch when it's done if I don't say so myself!  Unfortunately, life is so busy that I don't have much time to do really detailed, time consuming mani's but I still like to change my nails daily or close to it so simple is the order of the day most of the time!  It has a pretty cool pattern though and it's my Day 4 mani for Digit-al Dozen pattern week!

Started with a base of two coats of Pretty Serious Comfy Y-Fronts.  This is a pretty colour but I don't get the name at all.  Maybe someone can enlighten me?

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using FunkyFingers Gesso using image from MJ XLVI.

I'm going to be busy all weekend at Indie Expo Canada 2019 so please check out my Instagram for updates.  This also means I probablyyyy won't get my day 5 mani posted until Monday.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns; Day 3

It's day 3 of Digit-al Dozen pattern challenge  (I'm late, I'm sorry but life is just so busy!)!  I just did these nails a couple days ago; I thought I had done the mani's for the challenge (and I have!) but I liked these nails just a little better than another so decided to share now instead of another one!  The other Digit-al Dozen ladies are so talented; I have to try to bring my best mani's to try to keep up lol!  Anyway, here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Essie All Over The Wave, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Different Dimension Envy, part of the newly released 7 Deadly Sins collection.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Apipila Super Placa A using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Decided to add a few dots for colour and interest, added them using Painted Polish Stamped in Starfruit.

Digit-al Dozen Does Patterns: Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week; our prompt this week is patterns!  For Day 1, I decided to use a bunch of images that were all in a pattern; hopefully you can still see it on my short nails but it is more evident on the stamping plate!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a smooshy stamper base using Fancy Gloss Ocean Breeze, Blue Skies, Neon Blue and Striking Blue.

These were the polishes used!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina Born to Sail 01 and Lina Born to Sail 02 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Seeing Dots!

Good afternoon!  Hopefully you had a great weekend!  I'm gearing up to start a few days of vacation; I hope the weather stays warm and dry for the next week!  I did these nails back in April but could easily wear them any time of the year!  Here's what I came up with!

Glossy...or matte?

Started with a base of two coats of Fancy Gloss Beyond The Sea, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina Feeling Shapely! 02 with accent of MoYou Pro XL 26 using MdU 1.

MoYou Pro Collection XL-26

I double stamped the index finger to add more dots as you might be able to see close to the tip on the accent finger because the image had a stripe of dots that just didn't look right on my nails as there wasn't enough of a void so I added more dots using a clear stamper for placement to fill the space.  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I thought this would be a cool mani in matte, so added a coat of My Perfect Matte by My Indie Polish.

I'm not sure which version I like best; what do you think?

Digit-al Dozen Does Christmas in July - Day 3

Still sharing nails for Christmas in July challenge although these aren't like a play on the holiday but rather sharing them literally lol.  Like these are Christmas nails and I'm sharing them in July!   Good thing we can interpret the challenge as we wish!  I love how these turned out; I did them this past winter but unfortunately, didn't have time to share.  Here's what I came up with!

Can't decide which picture I like better!

Started with a base of Girly Bits Winter Whiplash (November 2018 Polish Pickup), no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Ejiubus EjB-03 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Some Experimental Layering!

I was going to use this mani for Digit-al Dozen colours challenge as there are quite a few colours in this but I had so many other mani's, that I used them instead.  Another floral mani, I love the brights against the darker base!

I love dark colours on shorties so started with a base of two coats of Pahlish Whomping Willow, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of New York Summer Alpha Jewel Glitter.

Layered with a coat of Yves Love 441.  This was a random dollar store find many years ago.  It is really sheer but I applied it thicker than my test nail so it covered up more of the holographic glitter than I wanted but you can still see it shine through.  It also has a really interesting green shimmer to it which added a whole other level to the base!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

That shimmerrrrr!

Stamped with image from Lina Feeling Shapely! 08 using MdU 1.

Added dots using MdU 53, 68 and 106 for some colour pop!  I was quite happy that you could still see the glitter and the shimmer even with the stamping on top!

Digit-al Dozen Does Vacation; Day 4

It's Digit-al Dozen week and our theme this month is vacation.  I love the water, I love being on the water and love looking at it.  I bought a trailer on the lake near Southampton, Ontario about a year and a half ago and that is where I spend most of any vacation I take during the summer.  It is right on the water plus not too far from town, where there is a lighthouse that I like to go look at.  This is what was used for the inspiration behind these vacation nails!  Here's what I came up with!

This is a picture I took last Labour Day in Southampton at the local beach area.  I have a few other pix but this is one I could find readily.

It's #fluidartfriday so thought I'd share a fluid art base! Started with a fluid decal using various blue polishes and dark blue DYI fluid polish.  I loved how this turned out; it is one of my more successful fluids so wanted to find a way to use it somehow!  I made this maybe 10 days ago and it is just at the point of starting to be brittle.  By far it is best to use them within 24-48 hours of making as they are much more pliable and fit to your nail better.  But I used older ones too; they just aren't as easy to work on the nail.

Cut down the larger decal to nail sizes and then applied after a coat of bonder.  Please excuse the ring and pinky finger and the Smurf nails; I guess I must have hit the blue that is a skin stainer on those nails but for some reason, missed it on the other nails.  Even with scrubbing with a cotton swab and remover, I could not get it off.  Hopefully its not that much of a visible deterrent for the rest of the mani!

Applied KBShimmer Clearly on Top to secure the decal to the nail and prep for stamping.  Still Smurf nails lol!

Stamped with images from Sugar Bubbles SB 040 on all nails with accent nail of BM-506 using FunkyFingers Gesso.  Yep, still Smurf nails!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

The next day after showering, I was able to get rid of some of the blue staining so took a few more pictures.

Later that night when I took off the mani, I reallyyyy had Smurf nails!  I didn't keep track of the polishes I used for the fluid art so not really sure which polish it was that was the culprit but after a good scrub with Crest whitening toothpaste, they cleaned up pretty good.

PS:  I probably won't be able to share my day 5 nails until next week; I don't have the post done yet and usually am not on the net that much during the summer so it will have to wait.  Plus hopefully I'll get Father's Day nails posted!
