Pretty & Polished Dusty Creme Gradient

I'm going to soon start sharing some Valentine's Day mani's, but before I do, I thought I'd share this mani I did a week or so ago.  This is some of my favourite things (dusty cremes, blue, sponged gradient, easy peasy)!  If you seen my New Year's post, you might remember that the Pretty & Polished dusty creme polishes are some of my faves right now.  Just a little bit of a something something to make for an interesting base for stamping.  Well, I thought I would see how well they gradient and must say, not too shabby if I do say myself!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Pretty & Polished My Sage Advice.  Can you see the dusty formula?  I love the look of this!

I should have cropped this pix but hopefully you can see the Pretty & Polished special dusty formula here.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient using these pretties; Pretty & Polished My Sage Advice, Weather the Storm and Reflect and Ponder.

This is how it turned out!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I decided to do a tri-mix for the stamping too using MoYou Beach House and Cool Pool and Esmaltes da Kelly Icaro with images from FUN 3 and an accent of UberChic UC 14-02.

UC 14-02

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  In case you are wondering about the removal of these dusty cremes, there were no issues.  Polish came off just like a normal creme.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!  Sorry, I'm a couple days late!  It's the Year of the Rooster; here's what I came up with!

I did some marble drips with the thought in mind that it would be mainly red, with thin lines of marble of black and glitter butttttt they didn't turn out like that.  Too much black for the most part and just wasn't what I had in mind.  Hey, sometimes that happens.  Used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Red My Lips, OPI Black Onyx and Parrot Polish White Gold.

Applied the decals and tried to clean up that darn red as best as I could!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top before stamping.

Stamped using Bundle Monster BM-S230 (index), BM-S228 (upper images on ring), BM-H15 (lower images on ring), and MoYou Zodiac Collection-22 (pinky, middle and thumb).  Used CND Gold Chrome as the stamping polish.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I did my other hand slightly different; liked how it turned out too!

This didn't turn out exactly what I had in mind but OK I think in the end!

Digit-al Dozen Does Birthday's; January 2017

This month in the Digit-al Dozen, we are celebrating Shelly at Sassy Shelly, whose birthday happens to be today!  Happy Birthday, Shelly!  Here's the nails I did based on the galaxy pix she chose!

Here's the inspiration pix.

Started with a base of two coats of Zoya Storm; shown with no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

For the galaxy, did a bunch of sponging.  Used Dare to Ware Wild Berry (purple), OPI Fearlessly Alice (light blue), and OPI Super Trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic.

Sponged on Tonic Magnetic Midnight and Dragon Tears here and there.

Added American Apparel The Valley (light blue) and Sunset Blvd. (coral).

Before top coating, dabbed on Wet n Wild R-U-Free-2-Dance?, then top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The stars in the pix were more blue than white, so stamped them on using MoYou Beach House using random parts of an image from Yours Truly Sasha Gossen Aim For The Stars.

Added a few dots here and there using American Apparel Sunset Blvd again to try to match the pix.

Swoon!

Just after I applied top coat to finish, I knicked the bottom lower corner of my middle finger.  Badly.  So filled it in with polish, responged a bit then added stamping just there to cover the indent.  If you look closely to above pix, you will notice it is a little different; that is why.  Once I fixed it up, applied top coat to finish.  I'm glad I was able to patch it up decently as these nails were a fair amount of work and time and it would have taken a bit just for the one!

Here's the other ladies birthday tribute mani's!

Not Your Typical Combination...But I Like It!

You don't see these colours together too often (I do recall FingersPolishMania posting this combination on IG this week though!) but I really liked how this turned out!  Occasionally at Halloween, I suppose.   But this is what came of two polish orders arriving in the same week and the need to try them both out at once! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats each of Girly Bits Astoria with an accent of Different Dimension Olive Me Loves Olive You.  Silly me, I had initially passed on GB Astoria when it was first released as well as the December monthly release of Grandma Got Run Over By A John Deere...but an extension to buy it and the regret of seeing all the swatches of Astoria made be hit buy now!

After I had top coated, I was cleaning up my nail station to prep for stamping and went to pick up a bottle of polish that I had tested to see if it would stamp over GB Astoria but I guess I forgot to close it.  So then I hit it, knocked it over and then did this when I was trying to save it from spilling.

So after fixing up a couple of the nails by redoing them, I added stamping using FunkyFingers Gesso using an image from Creative Shop 29.

Added a couple accent studs for interest.

I was on the fence to leave it like it was as I did like how it looked, but ultimately decided to add a few dots for interest using the olive polish

Topped it off with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This mani should have been quick and easy but took a little bit longer because of the oops, but I do like how it turned out!  I like how they are a little different than typical nails and that's not a bad thing to me every now and again!

Hope you're having a good weekend; thanks for looking!

You Are Getting Sleepy....Very Sleepy....!!!

I did these nails one night just before New Years after retrieving a much loved bottle of DS Shimmer from DD's bedroom.  She had borrowed it the night before as she wanted some silver holographic nails but being the teenager that she is, neglected to put it back where she found it.  Yes, I let my DD use whatever polish she wants as long as its put back; that's all I ask.  After I retrieved it, I thought that I haven't worn some holographic nails myself in a while so sat down and this is what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of OPI DS Shimmer.

This pose and lighting, you can see the holo a little bit better although VNL still a bit visible.

Stamped with an image from Color Club Illusion using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.  Can you see all those rainbows underneath the design?  Swwwoooonnnnnnn!

Color Club Illusion

Topped with a coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Flash tc to finish.

These nails probably took me about 15-20 minutes to do from taking off the old polish to the final shot of completed nails.  I only took 18 pictures in total of this mani which also included plate shots so not a whole lot of choice but hopefully these are good enough to share!

Enjoy you week; thanks for looking!

Nails To Beat The January Blahs!!

I'm not sure how the weather is where you are, but here in Southern Ontario, we are going through a spell of overcast skies.  We've had rain, freezing rain, fog and few scattered flurries here and there, but overall, we haven't seen much sunshine in a while, just gray skies.  And I'm not really complaining...except for that freezing rain that we can do without!  So I thought I'd share some nails to brighten your day if the sun isn't doing the job!

Started with a base of two coats of Enchanted Polish Shrimp Cocktail (index and pinky), adding Noodles Nail Polish Sand Castles and Sea Stars.  The glitter and stars in the crelly coordinated perfectly with EP Shrimp Cocktail!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from UberChic UC6-02 using MdU 57.

I didn't want to stamp on the accent nails, so decided to add a few dots using EP Shrimp Cocktail for interest.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer.

Hopefully you're enjoying sunny skies where you are....and we will have them back soon!
