Digit-al Dozen Does Tropical; Day 4

I cannot believe that this is yet another mani with hibiscuses; I honestly didn't have the intention of sharing 4 hibiscus mani's when I was planning manis for the challenge but this was yet another mani that didn't turn out on my test hand and I had to improvise.  The plan was the base and then zigzag stamping then a full accent nail of lizards with a lizard or two on the rest of the nails.  But the lizards didn't stamp well on the accent nail and, as I seen this Delaney Hibiscus 001 plate sitting out from the night before, I decided to go with the hibiscus decals and this is how it turned out!  Here's what I came up with!

Started out with a base of two coats of Contrary Polish Cocoon Galaxy, which was part of the April 2018 Polish Pickup.  This is a magnetic polish but I didn't magnetize it; I bought it strictly for my love of these steel blue/gray shades of polish with the holographic micro flakes and it happens to have a little pink shimmer added for good measure! Unfortunately, this beauty is no longer available unless you are able to find one in a destash.

Stamped with an image from Konad Square 14 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Here's the plate, ZZ Hawaii,  that I was going to use with all the lizards.  In fact, any of these images would be good for the tropical theme, this is why I pulled it to use!

I did a test stamp on my test hand of the full image using both green and navy and was meh about how they turned out.  I didn't have time to search through my plates for another lizard image to use so used the same Delaney Hibiscus 001 that I had used before; made five stamper decals, filled in with Quo by Orly Femme Fetale and applied them directly onto the nail once the sticky base was tacky.  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Here's the other ladies Day 4 tropical mani's!

I still can't believe that I did four hibiscus manis this week; I had pulled plates for palm trees and leaves and tropical fish and tropical birds; I guess they will have to wait for other times.  Stay tuned for Day 5 manis tomorrow; don't worry, it isn't hibiscuses!

Lemming Lacquer I'll Eat You Whole I Love You So

The weekend is fast approaching and it's so exciting that Indie Expo Canada 2018 is returning to Toronto!!! I can't wait to make more polishes on Saturday (here's the sign up sheet if you haven't signed up yet) and then look, touch and buy all the polishes on Sunday!!!! It's going to be a full day doing press for the event (will post on IG as day goes by so be sure to check out the posts) as well as being at the LynBDesigns table during the show, so please stop by and say hi!  This is a fabulous event; it is a wonderful opportunity to meet the face(s) behind the brands as well as see all the pretty polishes and other products before you buy them! So much fun; there's nail art tutorials and speakers during the weekend; it's also great to see polish friends and meet new ones! I hope to see you there!

I still have to decide what my nails will be wearing on the weekend, but in the meanwhile, here's a mani I was wearing last year.  Lemming Lacquer is a relatively new to me brand.  I had bought a few polishes last summer as the flakie lover in me wants to buy up all the flakies and even wore them back then, but haven't shared them yet. Which is a shame as I've really liked the polishes that I have wore so far.  Here's one from last summer when my order first arrived, Lemming Lacquer I'll Eat You Whole I Love You So.

Started with a base of three coats of Lemming Lacquer I'll Eat You Whole, I Love You So, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Kelly Negri KN31 using MdU 1.

Decided it needed a little something else like a burst of colour; added Contrary Polish Flames dots in various sizes for filler, colour and interest.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Contrary Sweet Poison...and Longing For Spring!

I love this colour combination but on this cold day, it makes me long for spring.  I know spring is right around the corner but I can't wait to see flowers starting to bloom and the return of the birds chirping!  Well, spring may be a little while away (maybe not in days but in better weather) but I can be satisfied with spring-like colours on my nails in the meanwhile!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Contrary Polish Sweet Poison.  Contrary Sweet Poison is another Polish Pick Up offering from July 2017 Cocktails & Mocktails theme.  Sorry to be sharing when no longer available but if this tickles your fancy, hopefully you can find in a destash.

Contrary Polish Looking Up

One of my must have polishes from the September 2017 Polish Pickup was Contrary Polish Looking Up. Even though I'm just sharing this mani now, I wore it soon after I receiving it.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Contrary Polish Looking Up.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Apipila p.01 (dots) and Apipila p.02 (waves) using FunkyFingers Gesso.  My intent here was some simple yet effective stamping but with enough voids that you could see the shimmer and flakes in Looking Up.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Contrary Polish Sky

I was searching through my stash on the weekend looking for something to put on my nails.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks, how is it when you have 837657596 polishes, you still can't find one you want to put on your nails?  Gaaa!  Anyway, after searching for what seemed like an hour but I am sure was much shorter, I finally decided upon Contrary Polish Sky.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with three coats of Contrary Polish Sky.  Two coats were good coverage except at the tips.  I only put two on Ms. Cindy and coverage was good but they are shorter than what is shown here.  But my posing hand, the nails are a little longer and I found I needed three.  Contrary Polish Sky is loaded with blue microglitter and loads of gold shimmer that you can see being picked up in the lighting.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with images from Kelly Negri KN 10 using MdU 52 as I wanted to stamp with an image that let loads of the base shine through!  I should point out that this stamping polish is one that might have the tendency to stain so I stamp and do clean up for each finger as I go to avoid any problems.

I didn't mind how this looked but wasn't very thrilled with my stamping on the accent finger and that it wsn't as good as it could have been.  Decided to add a few dots here and there for interest and camaflauge!

Finished everything off with a coat of KBShimmer Cleary on Top.

Digit-al Dozen Does December; Day 3

For Day 3's nails, decided to do some Christmas nails!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Contrary Polish Flames and Colors by llarowe Chasing A Unicorn.

Added Essie Getting Groovy to the thumb for some contrast.

Stamped over Contrary Flames stripes from Delaney Linges & Traits using FunkyFingers Guesso.  I had nicked my index finger and had to add another coat of Cbl Chasing A Unicorn.

Stamped holly using Chez Noel A001 using MdU 7.

Added red berries to the holly using Moyra SP02 stamping polish, then added stripes to the thumb using same image from Chez Linges & Traits using MdU 7.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

To tie in the gold thumb, I added a gold dots; not sure if this helped or hindered the mani!  But I liked it lol!

Here's what I was wearing on Ms. Cindy; Essie Getting Groovy was the base, used image from Chez Lignes & Traits using same stamping polishes; MdU 7 and Moyra Sp02.

Here's the other ladies Day 3 mani's!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Kids TV

It's Friday Saturday and that means 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge!  This weeks theme is kids TV and I might have misinterpreted the theme; I thought anything kids might watch on tv, but wonder if perhaps the intention was tv shows/cartoons, versus a movie they might watch on their TV.  But right or wrong, misinterpreted or not, I only have these nails to share so they will have to do!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a gradient of Contrary Polish Fresh and Sprout.

Sponged on OPI The Man With The Golden Gun.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Used assortment of images; BFF 39 (middle and thumb), MJ LI (index and ring) and Stampholic 3 (pinky) using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.
