Super Bowl Nails!

Good afternoon!  I'm typing this post as I'm making a pot of chili for the game tonight!  Who else is watching??  I'm not a big football fan so not really rooting for either of the teams but will be watching for the half time show and any new cool commercials.  But I do like do to nails based on the game so here's what I came up with this year!

Started with a base of Great Lakes Lacquer The Traveling Linguist (thumb), Masura Botanical Garden (middle), and OPI Dahlia Darling on the rest, but all but the ring finger were also topped with a coat of Scofflaw Are You A Veronica or A Betty?

Topped all except middle with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  The middle (I thought) was a texture polish and I wanted the grass texture but it really wasn't much of a texture polish.  I didn't top coat it here but I did later.

Made stamper decals for the index and middle using MJ XXIV and AK Coleccion 35 for the ring finger and small football on pinky using MdU 3, 9 and 22; Moyra SP 02 and 05 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate and Midnight Mischief.  Also added images from UC Sports Fan-01 on middle and pinky.  Gold on index is CND Gold Chrome.

I can't recall which plate this is; I planned on using it but never in the end.

AK Coleccion 35.

Added dots using MdU 9 (the deeper red representing San Fransico) and Moyra Sp. 02 (the brighter red representing Kansas City).  Also added a few gold dots using CND Gold Chrome.  Oh and I did something new (to me) today!  See the NFL logo on the middle?  Well, I first stamped it in navy using Moyra SP 05 and then removed the NFL words.  Made a stamper decal and filled in with the white which was Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  Then I stamped it using a different stamper using the red Moyra SP 02 and then removed all but the words.  Then to put it on the nail, I first stamped the blue logo, then stamped the red words on top of the stamper decal.  Thank goodness for clear stampers!  So cool; it gives way more options for stamping doing this.  (I seen this on the MoYou London site; the gal who is their regular nail model had done it.)

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Vacation; Day 3

I'm torn about sharing nails for today; it's game 6 in the Raptors v. Warriors tonight and the Raptors could take the NBA Championship...but doing Digit-al Dozen vacation mani's all week soooo, this mani is going to do double duty as in Toronto is a popular vacation destination and when on vacation, you might take in a local sports event or might even take a holiday to see a game specifically and in this case. to go see the Raptors play, right?  Well, that's what I'm sticking with; here's what I came up with for my day 3 mani!  Go, Raptors, Go!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls with accent nails of Color Club Disco Dress, two coats each, no top coat.

Applied a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I made stamper decals using images from Creative Shop 70 (thumb) and MJ XXIV (index and pinky) using MdU 1 and 2 then filled with Zoya Sonia.  Basketball on pinky was filled in with MdU 13).  And while I'm pretty much a stamping polish snob in that I rarely stamp with regular polishes (well, except FunkyFingers Gesso and Dark Knight which are my go to black and white stamping polishes), I discovered that Zoya Sonia stamped well too; so stamped index with UberChic Sports Fan-01 and Creative Shop 70 (middle). I actually had the hardest time finding a polish that was the right shade of Raptors red based on the examples I could find on the net and to make sure it showed up well enough on the Color Club Disco Dress; this was the closest I could find.  I think it matched pretty good!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added letters to ring finger using Nailways Back to Basics 123 ABC using FunkyFingers Gesso and did the signature claws freehand on the index finger using OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

Added words to middle finger using MdU 2 using same Nailways Back to Basics 123 ABC plate.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  And while I would normally be annoyed at the MdU polish feathering on the lettering, I'd like to think today that it is claw marks and the Raps are going to claw their way back and take it in 6!

Here's the other ladies day 3 mani's!

Super Bowl Nails!

It's Super Bowl Sunday; I'm about halfway in to making the chili we'll be eating while watching the game. We aren't actually big football fans but do watch the Super Bowl every year.  If nothing else, for the commercials, half time show and anthem!  So I don't have a favourite team to cheer for which is why I have both teams on my nails; even when I did Super Bowl manis in 2013, 2014 and last year, again, they are for both teams.  So enjoy the show and hopefully your team will win the Super Bowl!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, L'Oreal Brownie Points and an accent of AstroTurf.

Stamped using assortment of images; UberChic Sports Fan-01 (middle, ring and footballs on index), BundleMonster BM-XL181 (words in index, and pinky), ZZ Super (Panther on thumb) and MJ XXIV (Bronco image on thumb).  Unfortuntely I couldn't find a better Panther image then the one I used on the thumb so sorry to all the Panther fans that its not more accurate!  Stamping polishes used were Funky Fingers Gesso and Dark Knight and assortment of Mundo de Unas; 3, 22 and 53.

ZZ Super

Bundle Monster Work It! BM-XL181

I got the bright idea to stamp P for Panthers and B for Broncos on the helmets on the pinky, but, um, there was a little technical problem you might pick out.  I was all happy that I was actually able to place it with the clear jelly stamper then did a d'uh move.  Can you pick it out?

But I figured out what I did and corrected it which is the end pix here.

Enjoy the game and thanks for looking!

Super Bowl Nails!

Here's my nails for the big game tonight!

Stamped using Pet'la LE NFL plate using black Konad special polish, Mundo de Unas (#3, 9 and 34 with a little white to lighten it up) and Funky Fingers Gesso (white).

Using Mundo de Unas 38, filled in eye on the Seahawk and added a few stars using it and Mundo de Unas #3, then added a few more stars from T37 using Mundo de Unas 3 and 9 on ring finger.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Pet'la LE NFL plate.

I had set aside a few different plates to do my nails but couldn't use all the images; did this on my right hand! Same base and stamping polishes; plates used were Pet'la LE NFL plate (ring), MJ XVIII (ring and middle), MJ XXIV (pinky) and MoYou Tourist Collection 02 (thumb).

Digit-al Dozen Does Summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!; Day 4/5

I'm a day late getting my Day 4 post up and note sure if Day 5 will be making an appearance so I'm calling this my Day 4/5 mani!  As I had mentioned a couple days ago, I had a bad break last weekend and this mani is the first I've done since then. My index finger broke past the skin and I didn't wank to feel the burn with using remover so as giving it a few days to heal!  The mani's I've been sharing this week are ones I had done before preparing for the challenge ...or turned an archived mani into a challenge mani!  But this is one I did last night specifically to share for the challenge featuring baseball; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls on all fingers except accent, which was Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Sugar Fix not pix).  Painted on CND Green Scene on the sugar coat to mimic turf.

Stamped in baseball images all from MJ XXIV using red Konad special polish, Mundo de Unas #2 (black) and #22 (brown).  Hand painted in the diamond using Mundo de Unas #1 (white).  Added square glitter from Salon Perfect Ruby's Cube for the bases and home plate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish (even the sugar coat as I needed those bases to stick!)

Here's the other ladies Day 4 mani's!

Super Bowl Mani-Broncos vs. Seahawks

Did you watch the Super Bowl yesterday?  I didn't see too much of it...watched the national anthem (still trying to figure out about opera at the Super Bowl...just didn't seem to fit!), then watched the game until around half time...and a little after half time, but that's about it.  Congrats to the Seahawks fans on your teams win!  I don't really follow football but I did do a mani for the game just because I love to do themed mani's...and it's the only other time I could use some of the images on these plates! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, topped with SV (no pix as have shown before).  Stamped using A05 ("seahawk"), MJ XXIV original (Bronco, and NFL symbol), MJ XVIII (Go Team and ref) and CH35 (helmet and footfall), using assortment of Mundo de Unas special polishes, Konad black special polish and Kiko 323.  Mundo de Unas 14, which I've used before and stamps navy, stamped more purple this time...it really was meant to be navy!).

A closer look at MJ XXIV....lots of team logo's on it...I only wish they were all available on a plate!

Added assortment of dots in both teams colours.

Topped with SV to finish.

Congrats to Kacy S. who responded about the last giveaway over the weekend and is now the winner...the raffleopter has been updated for anyone who is following!  The Digit-al Dozen is also working on verifying the last mega giveaway so again, please remember to check your emails on a regular basis!  Lastly, I do have another sponsored giveaway planned which should be up by the end of the week!
