Shell Skittles

Another beach themed mani that I did recently; this time I liked the matte version just a smidgen better than the shiny, but for those who aren't a fan of matte, please scroll down and you'll see it too!  Here's what I came up with!

When I was looking for a polish or polishes to use for this mani, I pulled a couple KBShimmer blue ones.  Then I thought hmm, I like this finish, I wonder if I have enough to do skittles!  I didn't quite have enough to do all blue but the thumb is close enough and adds a little interest, so starting at thumb and going clockwise, used KBShimmer Polishes Hashtag You're It!, We Make Your Dreams Come Blue, Better Lake Than Ever, Rock This Way, and No Wave!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using B. Loves B.11 Summer Paradise using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Topped with matte from Glisten & Glow the next day.

Purples from IEC 2019

I'm slowly going through the polishes from Indie Expo Canada last summer.  Some I've wore and shared, others I've wore and still have to share and well, there's a whole lot that I haven't even got on my nails yet! In fact, they are still in the IEC VIP bag from the event, beckoning me to sort and put them away.  But I have intentions of getting them on my nails first and every so often, I peek into the bag and pick one or more polish to do a mani with.  At some point, I'll get through them, I just don't know when that is!  In the meanwhile, please enjoy the one I did do and am sharing now!

Started with a base of KBShimmer Thanks for Poutine Up With Me (VIP bag polish) with Girly Bits Orchid-ing Me Right? (Indie Expo Canada 19 Cocktail Reception Exclusive); both of these polishes were from Indie Expo Canada 2019.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from DRK B using MdU 16 and 116.   Some nails had a gradient; some were just the one stamping polish.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.  Just noticed that the stamping polish had reaction with the polish and the top coat and turned dark purple.  Still looks cool though!

For anyone who didn't know, there will be no Indie Expos Canada 2020; however, let's keep our fingers crossed for 2021!

Kiss Me, I'm Irish!

If this mani looks familiar, it's because it was a mani that evolved over several days, with some parts staying constant, that I shared the finished look here!  That and the fact that I loved Pahlish Four Leaf Clover so much, I didn't want to take it off!  But I did wear it in different phases for a few days before how it ended up and this post will share a couple of those looks including this one!

Started with a base of Pahlish Four Leaf Clover on the index, middle and pinky.  The ring is a sponged gradient of KBShimmer In Yacht Water and Girly Bits It's Near Leaf Fall.  Thumb is a fluid art decal that was applied, polishes unknown.

Stamped all the Pahlish nails with Lina All Mixed Up! 01 using MdU 30, thumb is UberChic mini:  St. Patrick's Day with the shamrocks from the same Lina plate; the middle nail is a stamper decal made from Messy Mansion MM04.  Ring finger is MM04 with the rainbow being CjS H-14 using Mdu 39, 68, 11, 107, 9 and 60.

However, when I went to top coat the middle nail, the stamper decal pretty much disintegrated so as not to abandon the entire mani, I did a fresh coat of the Palish and stamped it with the clovers on the rest of the nails, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  I wore this for a couple days.

But after a couple days, I thought the thumb nail didn't seem to go that well with the rest of the nails, so removed the fluid art decal and put on Pahlish Four Leaf Clover on it as well, then stamped it with the same shamrock images and again, wore it for a couple days.  I didn't mind how it looks here but just preferred it with the Pahlish base on all four nails with the pot of gold accent nail!

Thanks for looking and hope you're having a great weekend!  And wash your hands often!

Another St. Patrick's Day Mani!

It's Digit-al Dozen week!

Except it's not!  (Insert sad face.)  This was suppose to be a Digit-al Dozen post; however, unfortunately, we aren't doing the challenge this month.  I understand; I've had to miss a couple months myself or wasn't able to participate in the full week due to life events happening lately, so I hope we will be on track for next month!

Speaking of participating; the Digit-al Dozen is looking for new members!  If you love nail art, have a blog and can do 5 mani's a month on various challenges, we'd love to hear from you!  Please comment in this post or email me or any of the Digit-al Dozen members!  Thank you!

This mani is actually one of my favourite mani's that I've done for St. Patrick's Day!  Here's what I came up with!

Usually my posts show the mani in progress but this was actually the end look of three different looks just changing up a few nails over a couple days and I'll share them later.  But just in case I don't get to sharing them soon, the base polish is Pahlish Four Leaf Clover with an accent gradient of KBShimmer In Yacht Water and Girly Bits It's Near Leaf Fall.  The clovers are from Lina All Mixed Up! 01 using MdU 39 and the accent nail is image from MM 04 for the pot of gold, filled with Hit the Bottle to Have and to Gold, and the rainbow bars from CjS H-14 using, in order shown, MdU 39, 68, 11, 107, 9 and 60.  I just could not get enough of Pahlish Four Leaf Clover which is why I kept on changing up this mani over several days!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!  I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, with accents of CbL Last Harvest and O Canada.

Topped thumb with a thin coat of KBShimmer Holly Back Girl.  Also topped the holos with OPI DS Shimmer for some more holo!  Then coated all with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient on two nails using OPI Envy the Adventure and Color Club Catwalk.

Stamped the holo accent nails with image from Delaney Lignes & Traits with Painted Polish Blanc Slate, the gradient nails with Dixie Plates Christmas 2018 with Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and the thumb with Marianne Nails n.127 using Konad red.

Added a couple dots on the reindeer using same polishes that were used in the gradient.

Digit-al Dozen Does Colo(u)rs Collide; Day 5

My final Digit-al Dozen mani for the colours collide challenge is another Halloween mani!  How is it that orange, green and purple are colours that clash, but they go oh, so well together for Halloween?  One of life's burning questions apparently lol! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, OPI Did It On 'Em, OPI Summer Lovin' Having A Blast, and OPI Positive Vibes Only.  Added a couple coats of KBShimmer Hide and Eek on the OPI MBSW bases.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Using MdU 11, stamped images from Delaney Halloween A001 (thumb and index), Creative Shop 108 (middle), Delaney Halloween 006 (ring) and Maniology M056 (pinky).

Creative Shop 108.

Maniology M056

Shadow stamped using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief using plates as noted above, except that I removed the stamping on the pinky and used an image from Lina Spooklicious! 03 instead.

Digit-al Dozen Does Wool/Copper; Day 5

It's the final day for Digit-al Dozen wool/copper challenge and today's nails are (loosely) based on the copperhead snake.  Loose because the base isn't copper, but the design is based on the scales of the copperhead snake and we have wide interpretation of any challenge!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of KBShimmer The Eh Team, no top coat.  KBShimmer The Eh Team was an Indie Expo Canada 2019 exclusive that I bought at the event last month.  Remaining bottles were made available for purchase through Harlow & Co. here but it looks like it sold out, sorry.

Another shot just because my polish application and clean up rarely looks this good!  Clearly, The Eh Team applied itself because you know I couldn't do this decent of a job of it!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic UC Wild Luxury: Cold Blooded using Hit The Bottle Peacock Shimmer.  I also bought this plate at the UberChic booth at IEC 2019 and ironically Hit the Bottle was also in attendance!  I didn't buy Peacock Shimmer at this years event but rather when they attended in 2017.

UberChic UC Wild Luxury:  Cold Blooded

Shadow stamped using same image from UC Wild Luxury: Cold Blooded using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  Painted Polish was not in attendance at IEC 2019 but who knows; maybe Lexi will have a booth next year??  Here's to hoping!

I'm not sure if this is the best picture I could have shared but you can actually see the base polish and the first stamped polish well in this pix which is why I chose it to share.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Hopefully you've enjoyed the Digit-al Dozen's 7th anniversary theme of wool/copper!
