Daisies!

Not the blue daisies I usually wear but I did these as I still wanted summer nails and to change up the colours a bit.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Cirque El Capitan and Cirque Hustle, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina 4 Seasons-Spring 02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Used same base polishes and added floral center dots on the opposite colour.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Easter Egg Nails!

Like St. Patrick's Day, Easter has snuck up on me and while I have mani's to share, am running out of time to post them.  Hopefully I'll get a few shared before it passes.

Started with a base of skittles; starting at thumb and going clockwise, Never Mind Ginger Taste, Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Miami Ice, Orly Bleu Iris, Cirque High Roller and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Pink Cadillaquer.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I decided I wanted speckled egg nails, so added a coat of Fancy Gloss Crushed Onyx.  It was a little heavier than I was wanting and I should have applied it before top coating, but that's OK; I decided I can make it work.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Thankfully I have a nail dryer so dried my nails for a bit to ensure they were good before stamping.

Stamped using Apipila XL using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  This isn't what I had in mind, but I couldn't decide on a bright colour that would pop on all the nails, that still worked with the black specks.  It was OK but not what I had anticipated.  Also, I shrunk the image using the size adjusting stamper or otherwise, would have just one line of wavy lines as it is a fairly bit image on my itty bitty nails.

Apipila XL.  Yes, I bought this plate strictly for the image I used here.  We all do it!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Welcome Spring!

Spring officially arrives today at 10:46 am so I'm sharing the spring-esque nails on the dot of spring.  Right colours, wrong flowers but daisies will be out soon enough!

Started with a base of Cirque Matcha (index and pinky), Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Pink Cadillaquer (middle and ring) and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Fuchsia Fever (thumb), no top coat, all on a coat of Cupcake White Pop.

Topped with a coat of Noodles Snowkissed, one thin.  I rediscovered this polish when I was pulling green polishes for St. Patrick's Day nails and seen this one sitting there and I thought it would be perfect for a spring mani.  And here we are!  Cirque Matcha was one of the greens I had pulled for St. Patrick's Day nails as well.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with image from SdP-67 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  This is a full nail image and is isolated an image and enlarged it using the sizing stamper and placed them several times on the middle and ring fingers.

Dotted centers of the polishes using the same base polishes.

Topped with Girly Bits Glitter Glaze to smooth the glitter, then topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Hearts!

This was an experimental velvet mani and while it's not my best work, I don't think it was my worst.  It gave me good feel for how to do a tinted base on top of a velvet magnetic mani anyway and I will take what I learned this time and apply it to the next one, and hopefully it will turn out better!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Polished for Days white soft focus, then added three coats of Cirque Chemistry, magnitized with a 30 lb. magnet.

I knew I was going to put a tint over it as I don't have a red magnetic polish, so topped with Essie Blush Stroke, which wasn't as red as I was looking for, but I at least was happy that you could see the velvet affect underneath.

Topped with a coat of Cirque Lucky Jelly, which was the red I was going for, or at least red enough, yet you could still see magnetic affect underneath.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from Nicole Diary-S23 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  This was a good image to use as you seen the Valentine themed image, yet seen the velvet nails underneath.

Nicole Diary S-23.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

If I was to do this again, I would try it with a darker base as it took a lot of coats for the silver polish to be opaque enough, so likely a black maybe?  Or look for a more opaque silver magnetic as I have all kinds of ideas with topping jelly polishes over a velvet nail.

Spooky Season Starts!

Halloween is just around the corner and I have a few Halloween mani's to share, starting with this one!  Here's what I came up with!

Starting with a base of Cirque Hatch on a coat of white pop blur base, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Sugar Bubbles SB 074

VZ H15

Stamped with different webs; MoYou Halloween 10 (thumb), MdU VZ H15 (index), MoYou London Halloween 20 (middle), SB 074 (ring) and MdU VZ H15 (pinky) using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Double stamped with Halloween themed images; MoYou London Halloween 10 (thumb) using MdU 11 and 13, CjS H-55 (index) using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and MdU 11, MoYou London Halloween 10 (middle) using MdU 11 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate, MoYou London Halloween 20 (ring) using MdU 11 and MdU 52 and MdU AZ Spooky 6 (pinky) using MdU 9 and MdU 11.  Then topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Thanks for living!

Fall Leaves!

We have more seasonal daytime temperatures now and the nights are really dipping, so there will be lots of fall colour soon.  My favourite time of year; can't wait to see more leaves changing!  Here's another fall mani that I did not too long ago!

Polishes used, starting at the thumb and going clockwise:  Painted Polish Cobra Clarity, Girly Bits Butternut Leave Me Alone, Etheral Lacquer Viper, Chance Nail Lacquer 303, and Cirque Urbanized.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-318

Stamped using Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-318 using MdU 9, 13, 106 and 107, outlined in Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  Accent nail is Lina 4 Seasons Autumn 03 with same polishes.

I thought the thumb looked a little bare when the leaves on all leaves were outlined but not on the thumb, so handpainted an outlined them with polish and brush, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Love Is…

I was searching through my Valentine's Day plates and seen the Love Is couple and thought they might make a cute Valentine's Day mani; here's what I came up with!

 Candy Skull R-020

Started with a coat of Cirque Hatch over a coat of Cupcake Polish White Pop, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using image from UberChic Love & Marriage 03 with accent nail of Candy Skull R-020 using Moyra SP. 02 and Painted Polish Midnight Mischief. The ring finger image was shrunk using the Moyra super sizing stamper.

Stamped words on thumb using same UberChic plate and added a heart at the cuticule and filled them in on the accent nail.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

The next morning, I remembered that the phrase for the cartoon couple is Love Is so added the extra word on the thumb using same UberChix plate.  I also had something unusual happen; on both black stamping images, the stamping polish smeared even though I used my regular go to Apipila non smear top coat before I added the KB tc, and I've never had that happen before so I need to figure out why as I use it to prevent smears and it didn't seem to work this time.  Never had it happen before so weird.  I hope I can figure it out. It wasn't noticeable on the nail, just in the pix, but annoying still the same.

Here's the cute cartoon couple.  Do you recognize it now?
