Bleeding Heart

One of my favourite things to put on my nails is some type of plaid with some interesting accent on top.  While 90% of the time, the interesting accent is a snowflake or flower, I decided to add hearts for Valentine's Day; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Mystery Proto 334, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped lines using image from Lilic's A08 using MdU 64.

Added hearts from MoYou London Love Is....12 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Added a small heart using MdU 64 and the same plate on the pinky.

MoYou London Love Is....Collection-12.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Had to be quick to take a picture as I suspected this was one of those purple polishes that bleeds through the stamping.

That was the right call because the white stamping turned a pale lilac very quickly.  It was still pretty!

Easter Nails!

Happy Easter!  Hopefully you had a good Easter weekend!  My weekend was pretty busy but I was able to do these nails over the weekend and wore them all weekend, until last night anyway.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with two coats of Barielle Green With Envy, shown with no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Lilac's A08 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Shadow stamped accent nail using an image from MoYou Festive 09 using MdU 11 and FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

I had made 4 stamper decals for the lilies using another image from Lilac's A08.  Stamped each of them on a clear stamper, painted, applied sticky base to nails then stamped decals right onto nails once sticky base was tacky/dry to the touch.  Love this method; really makes stamper decals so much easier and faster with a lot less planning ahead!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  Unfortunately, I nicked my middle finger decal with my other hand so it smeared; I hand painted the outline best as I could and tried to save it so I didn't have to redo everything.  Not perfect, but I've done worse!

Added a few dots on accent and lilies for colour and interest.

Finished with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Dance Legend Fresh Collection - 78

I have a sneaky suspicion that blue has become my favourite nail colour versus the more mainstream pink that I favoured years ago.  It's no secret I have a large amount of posts in archives as I've stated it before and my posted nails vary in length, some have hangnails, then the next day they don't!  So when I was sorting through them to figure out what to post, a good 80% of the drafts are blue in some hue or another.  I'll try to mix it up but otherwise, be prepared for a lot of blue over the next while! I probably have enough blues to do only blue posts in April for Autism Awareness like I did a a couple years ago; I might have to consider that again! Not that it matters; they are all pretty enough, it is just I do try to mix things up a bit!

Started with a base of Dance Legend Fresh Collection - 78, two coats then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top. This looks very similar to what I have in my stash; in retrospect, I wish I had have added it to the comparisons I did with Different Dimension Wave if You Sea Me and Sinful Colors Blue By You here

Stamped using white Konad special polish using Lilic's Rendas.

Lilic's Rendas

Fixed a couple of the dots, then top coated to finish.

To see how similar these three polishes are, here is Different Dimension Wave if You Sea Me is on top; Sinful Colors Blue By You is on the bottom from the comparison I did before.

As pretty as Dance Legend Fresh-78 is, I'm kind of mad at myself for having three polishes so similar.  It was bad enough having two...but three?  Not necessary.

Digit-al Dozen Does Spooky Days; Day 5

Happy Halloween!  Tonight is the night for all the ghosts and goblins to go trick or treating; I thought I'd do a Halloween mani along those lines for Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen Spooky Days; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (white), FingerPaints Black Expressionism (black) and Sally Hansen Insta-dri Pumpkin Queen (orange).  Added topcoat.  No pix as all colours have been shown before and this post is going to be picture heavy as it is!

Stamped using assortment of images from MoYou Landscape Collection-06 (thumb), Lilic's A09 (middle ghost), Infinity 35 (middle mummy), HD-H (pinky and pumpkin on ring), HD-C (trick or treat on ring) and HD-G (index).  Stamping polishes used were Konad black and Mundoe de Unas 11 and 28.

Added a few bats and the moon from BFF 07 and did some touch ups on ring finger of the stamping on the trick or treat words (the words blobbed more than I'd like; not sure if its from deep etching or the Mundo polish smearing).

Added a few dots for filler and colour interest.

Top coated to finish.  I had thought about doing a black jelly wash over the thumb to mimic night time but didn't want to wreck it; I might try it before I take it off just to see how it looks.  But for now, this is how it is on my nails when the trick or treaters visit!

Here's the other Spooky Day 5 mani's!  As usual, the mani's have been fantastic all week!
