Last Blue Mani for April Autism Awareness Month

Today is the last blue mani that I'll be sharing in April for Autism Awareness month.  Hopefully you haven't been bored with the blue mani's all month and I thank you if you have stuck around all month to check them out!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Girly Bits A Piece Of The Puzzle - for Ipads for Autism-Windsor, which was a custom designed charity polish for Human Puzzle Piece For Autism Awareness event in April 2016.  Unfortunately, this shade has been retired by Girly Bits.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Applied stamper decals that I had made using images from Creative Shop 105.

Did a stamped gradient using a couple metallic polishes and applied to ring finger using image from Lesley LS-09.

Stamped index finger using same image from LS-09 and pinky using Dixie Plates Awareness using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Shadow, Shadow Stamping!?!

I think this was a good mani in theory but pretty much a fail in practise but I think it's cool none the less!  I had this idea to do triple stamping but in shadow method so thought I would give it a try!  I did OK on a couple nails and not so good on others but still OK overall I think!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Different Dimension Oh Joy! It's a Boy!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using MdU 3 using an image from UberChic UC1-02.

Shadow stamped using same image from UC 1-02 using MdU 1.

Then stamped again (shadow, shadow stamping?) using MdU 3 again.  This was the most successful nail I think, at least you can make out the three stamps side by side versus slightly off.  Not perfect, but you can see the intent anyway lol.

The entire hand; index finger stamped pretty good too.  The rest are just a hot mess lol.  Even with a clear jelly stamper, cannot get it right!   I think part of the problem was that this is a pretty busy image and it was pretty ambitious to shadow stamp once, never mind a second time.  The rest of the nails look cool none the less like abstract art I think just not the shadow/shadow look that was intended!

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I GOT BIG DOTS AND I CANNOT LIE!

I love how these nails turned out; I did them for my birthday weekend last summer but they chipped and I ended up having to do them again last minute because no birthday girl wants chipped nails for her birthday weekend!  But they were cool while they lasted...to me anyway!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a quick layer base of Sinful Colors Wonder Mint.  As you can see by the application of the Girly Bits Border Patrol, I really didn't have plans to share this but took pictures anyway!

Did a sponged gradient using Sinful Colors Wonder Mint and Zoya Breezi.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Stamped using acrylic plate XY-F14 using FF Gesso.

Finished with a final coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Blue month in support of Autism Awareness has almost ended; I don't think I will have a chance this weekend to do any more posts but will be doing one final autism related mani at month end.  It will be nice to share some other mani's that aren't blue although I still have oodles more to share at some point!  As most of these were archived mani's, I've been wearing a lot of colours this month that aren't blue so have plenty of mani's to share...and a couple hundred archived manis to share at some point!

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

Picture Polish Calm

It's a beautiful, sunny day here in Southern Ontario. FINALLY!!!  Let's hope the nice weather stays with us for a while!!!  I have a few spring mani's to share but they aren't blue so cannot share as I'm still sharing blue mani's for Autism Awareness month.  This is in the blue family with blue stamping so it still counts!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of Picture Polish Calm.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Apipila P.24 using MdU 1 and 68.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Polished for Days Antarctica

I hope you've been enjoying all these blue polishes!  I still have lots to share so I hope you aren't tired of them yet....at least until the end of the month!

This is one of those mani's that I absolutely love the base but wrecked it with the stamping.  Really too bad but I'm going to share it anyway; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Polished for Days Antarctica no top coat.

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Apipila Super Placa G using MdU 3, Jolifin Stamping Polish Caribbean Sea and FunkyFingers Gesso.  Unfortunately, I didn't scrape well and gradient the polishes well, plus they are all stamped in different stages of gradient, not my best stamping by any means.  :(

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

The good thing about nail fails is its easy enough to change and I always take away the experience of what went wrong so I hopefully don't do it again!

Earth Day Nails!

I'm a little late for Earth Day, sorry!  For some reason, I really thought it was April 24th and had set aside some plates that have the Earth Day words and the world and other appropriate images but didn't realize until the actual day (April 22nd) when I seen people posting on IG, etc.  that it wasn't the 24th after all.  So I'm going to use these oceanic nails for my late Earth Day nails!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a gradient using Zoya Pixie Dust NYX, Liberty and Waverly.  I think this is just one or two presses down with the sponge; coverage was great!  Probably the fastest gradient I've ever done! Now I want to do more gradients using these Zoya Pixie Dust polishes!

Stamped using images from Moyra Plate 29 - Waterworld.

I hope you had a great Earth Day on this amazing planet we live on!  Hopefully, it will be around for millions and millions of more years for future generations to enjoy!

Great Lakes Lacquer Winter Solstice Sunrise

This stunning Great Lakes Lacquer embodies a couple of my favourite polish things: flakies and blue!  Then I did stamping and dots which is a couple of my favourite things to do when doing my nails (busy stamping and dots as often as I can); when you put it all together, this is what you come up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Great Lakes Lacquer Winter Solstice Sunrise, no top coat.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with an image from Marianne Nails n.22 using MdU 80.  I love this image but it might be too busy for the polish in that it covers up more of the base than I would have liked.

Marianne Nails Professional n.22.  Loving this plate too; I've used it a bunch of times now!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added a few dots for colour and interest; topped with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish.

Picture Polish Forget Me Not

I love this bright blue mani with the bold contrasting lines; I did this way back in September 2016 and cannot believe I haven't shared yet!  If I recall correctly, these were the nails I wore for Polish Con 2016 in Chicago; I remember doing my nails right after packing on Friday afternoon and they were just dry to the touch as I went out the front door!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Picture Polish Forget Me Not, no top coat.

Topped with top coat.

Stamped using an image from Marianne Nails n.46 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Added a metal stud on accent.

Topped with top coat to finish.

Thinking back, what a great weekend that was!  Well, except the 11 hour drive to Chicago and the 9 hour drive home.  The time difference accounts for leaving Friday night in rush hour traffic and our lovely random vehicle check by customs on our way into US.  The check wasn't the issue or the reason so much for the delay.  The delay was mainly due to a van full of priests that had locked their keys in their vehicle and every custom agent was going to their aid to try to get one of their doors open.  So everyone who was having a random vehicle check had to wait until they were finally on their way.  I guess they had something more important to attend to, more so that the group of us waiting on the customs agents to have our vehicles inspected!

Stars and Confetti!

These were nails I was going to share for Digit-al Dozen indie love challenge but didn't!  Not that I don't love them; in fact, I love this amazing top coat from an indie polish maker; Polished For Days.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Morgan Taylor Anime-zing Color! no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Polished for Days Confetti.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  These photos unfortunately do not do Confetti justice.

Stamped with an image from BP-64 with FunkyFingers Gesso.  All the nails are using the same image; I just mixed it up how I stamped each finger (which is one of my favourite things to do to give the nails a little bit more interest!).

BP-64

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Try as I might, I couldn't really capture the awesomeness of Polished For Days Confetti until the next morning, when I was outside and in kind of overcast conditions.  These pictures show it so much better than the artificial lighting.
