Digit-al Dozen Does Throwback - Day 3

I hope you have been enjoying these revisited mani's for Digit-al Dozen throwback week!  This is my day 3 mani based on a previous Digit-al Dozen mani done back in 2015!

Started with a gradient base of Picture Polish Sunflower, Autumn and Bordeaux.

Stamped using images from Creative Shop 38 (pinky), BM-S241 (ring), MoYou Mother Nature Collection-14 (index and middle), Infinity 146 (fence and crow on thumb) and UC Halloween 01 (tree on thumb), using MdU 2.

BM-S241

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

This mani is based on this mani I did before; this is the blog post!  One of the plates is the same, but it was changed up a bit, as well as used different polishes for the gradient!

Here's the other ladies day 3 mani's!

Crows!

These nails were loosely inspired by a book that I read not too long ago, The Tenth Circle by Jody Picoult. I had read it a few weeks before Digit-al Dozen does Story Genres and was going to share it then...but then really didn't think the nails were that relevant to the book so didn't share (if that makes sense lol).  But in the book, the father character recalls several instances when crows (or blackbirds) are present at certain times in his life and that stood out for me when I was reading the book.  So when I sat down to do my nails shortly after reading the book and seen a couple plates with crows of them, I decided to use crows in my mani; this is what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy decal using OPI I'll Have A Gin & Tectonic, China Glaze I Just Cant-alope, OPI Krona-logical, Quo by Orly Nude, China Glaze Tis The Sea-sun and FunkyFingers Gesso.  (Another dogs breakfast look to me lol).

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Creative Shop 57 (thumb), Creative Shop 31 (index and middle) and Creative Shop 38 (ring and pinky) using FunkyFingers Dark Knight. Can you tell that the thumb is a reflection?  The image barely fit my nails so to me, it's not overly obvious.

I like the look of just these four fingers as to me, it just tells a different story.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Just the four fingers top coated.

I also have to admit; every time I see crows, I always think of Lauri at CrowsToes (Polish); don't you?

Digit-al Dozen Does 5th Birthday; Day 3

You may have seen a blog post or it mentioned on IG in August, that I turned the big 5-0; while I shared a few pix about the event, I didn't have time to share the nails that I was sporting for the occasion but I'm going to do so now as '50' has a '5' in it, right?  (And as seems the norm lately with Digit-al Dozen posts, I'm late, so sorry!). Here's what I came up with!

I knew I wanted to go with sparkly, fun, and colourful nails for the day and glitter is always fun!  The newly arrived Girly Bits Sequins & Satin Pants collex fit the bill; just painted heavy lines with them; sometimes, I overlapped, other times, I never. There was no rhyme or reason for this.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on top.

Stamped using an image from Creative Shop 38 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Did Ms. Cindy slightly different but still used same collection of polishes and same stamping plate.

A Few of My Favourite Things

I'm not quite sure what to call this mani...I thought something along the lines of 'Arctic Life' except there are no dolphins in the arctic (well, normally anyway)!  Then thought maybe 'Mammal Life" except the iceberg isn't a mammal.  Perhaps I should have added penguins to the index finger to make it more 'Artic Life" appropriate...maybe next time!  I also was thinking..."one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong"...going back to Sesame Street days lol!  Anyway, even if the mani doesn't make sense, I still liked how it turned out!  This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Suzi Without A Paddle, no top coat.

Topped with a a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Did a sponged gradient using OPI Suzi Without A Paddle, OPI Is That A Spear in Your Pocket?, OPI Super Trop-i-cal-i-fiji-istic and Zoya Natty. As you can see on a couple of the nails, I had an issue with Zoya Natty coming off when I was sponging it so had to use another sponge and dab it back on so the gradient isn't as smooth as I would like. I don't know why it does this...any tips would be helpful!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I had made some stamper decals using Creative Shop 37 (bear and iceberg/killer whale image) and Creative Shop 38 (dolphins) using combination of acrylic paints and polishes.

Applied them; also stamped onto the pinky an image from Creative Shop 28. I think of all the work on the gradient and except the index finger, you can hardly tell!

The pinky stamping didn't show up that well, so I double stamped using same image, then did some fill with same stamping polishes to the waves.  Also stamped in a few more bubbles on the index finger.

Topped it off with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I've been lucky that I have seen dolphins, whales and killer whales on my travels; those can be taken off the my bucket list! While I've seen glaciers, I haven't seen a big iceberg like this (did see baby bergs!) although seeing big icebergs like this in person is certainly on my bucket list.  So is seeing polar bears in the wild! Some day hopefully!
