Shell Skittles

Another beach themed mani that I did recently; this time I liked the matte version just a smidgen better than the shiny, but for those who aren't a fan of matte, please scroll down and you'll see it too!  Here's what I came up with!

When I was looking for a polish or polishes to use for this mani, I pulled a couple KBShimmer blue ones.  Then I thought hmm, I like this finish, I wonder if I have enough to do skittles!  I didn't quite have enough to do all blue but the thumb is close enough and adds a little interest, so starting at thumb and going clockwise, used KBShimmer Polishes Hashtag You're It!, We Make Your Dreams Come Blue, Better Lake Than Ever, Rock This Way, and No Wave!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using B. Loves B.11 Summer Paradise using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with matte from Glisten & Glow the next day.

Neon Floral Nails

Some days you just feel like a little neon on your nails and that's what I sat down to do one time not too long ago.  Here's what I came up with!

Did a stamper smooshy base using Color Club Totally Worth It, Mrs. Robinson, Almost Famous, All That Razz and FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped with Creative Shop 183 Basic using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  I really like these images that are on the smaller size for my smaller size nails.

The next day, I thought the they would like them with a matte topcoat so used one from Glisten & Glow, but I prefer the shiny version in this case for sure.  But you never know until you try, as the saying goes!

Some Cool Layering!

I love how the addition of a topper can change up a base polish so much; I love experimenting with a a couple of different layers and seeing how it turn all turns out, like I did for these nails.  The only thing that I was bothered by, in the case of this mani anyway, was that the stamping covered up too much of the base!  You can see a good bit of it still peeking through, but I do wish I had have picked an image with finer lines.  Next time!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of one coat Zoya Danielle, no top coat.   No, that isn't a typo; it is only one coat!  It had pretty good opaque coverage and I knew I was topping this so kept it to the one.

Topped with Pahlish Cloud Forest, no topcoat.  I'm loving the blue and pink flakies; so pretty and delicate!

But I needed a little more bling!  One coat of Seche Diamond Dust turned these nails up a bit and I was happy that I used it, even though I did like the look of the pretty flakies.  They can still be seen peeking through anyway!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from SugarBubbles SB 040 using Painted Polish Stamped in Taro, Stamped in Rose and Blanc Slate.

I can't remember if this was the next day or immediately after the fact, but decided to add a top coat; added Glisten & Glow matte top coat.

I noticed when I was in the bathroom that the flakies from Pahlish Cloud Burst really showed up well so snapped a pix and thought I'd share it as well!  I see a little tip wear on the ring finger so I'm sure this was the next day.

Thanks for looking and enjoy the weekend!  Be safe!

Daisies!!!

Like a lot of areas in Canada and US (maybe more countries as well), we've had some unseasonably cool temperatures lately.  Even hail and snow a couple days earlier this week.  But it is calling for warmer weather and I can't wait to feel the warm air and sun on my face!  Might even go for a little drive in the country with the windows down to feel the breeze! We'll see!

Thought I'd share these brights in anticipation of all the sun we should be seeing soon!

Started with a base of three coats of China Glaze Good As Marigold, no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Fancy Gloss Magma.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Lina 4 Seasons-Spring 02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Dotted flower centers using same base.  Don't ask me why; not really that obvious but it made sense at the time!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

The next day, I thought that these flakies would look cool with matte top coat, so added a coat of Glisten & Glow matte top coat.  Not sure which one I liked best; they both look pretty awesome if I don't say so myself! haha!

One more shot; this time outdoors.  I don't really wear much orange and especially not outside of fall and Halloween but really love this combo!

Hope you're having a great week and thanks for looking!

Distressed Nails!

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a great one and all the best to you throughout the entire year!  How about we start the new year with a stunner!

I'm hard pressed to pick if I like the shiny or matte version of these nails but when I look at them, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice!

Shiny.....

.....or matte?

Started with a base of two coats of Poetry Cowgirl Nail Polish Sing 'em Good (March 2019 PPU), no top coat.  This could be a one coater I think, but I did two.  I have to say, this is the first time using a Poetry Cowgirl polish even though I have a few and OMG, am loving it!  Loved the formula, application was easy, no brush issues, no staining, easy clean up, almost a one coater and awesome looking polish....what's not to love???!!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I do have to say, I was hesitant to stamp over this beautiful polish!  But I did and think the stamping goes well with the base.  I used an image from  Marianne Nails n.120 using Mdu stamping polishes 68, 102 and FunkyFingers Gesso.

Marianne Nails n.120.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I thought the distressed look of the stamping would look cool matte, so topped with a coat of Glisten  Glow matte and wasn't disappointed!

Hope you are enjoying the first few days of the New Year....thanks for looking!

Digit-al Dozen Does Accent Nails; Day 2!

I did these nails a year or so ago, just too many mani's, not enough time!  But I thought the Digit-al Dozen accent theme will be the perfect time to finally share them!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of FingerPaints Piece de Resistance, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Lina 4 Season-Winter 02 using CND Gold Chrome.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

And while the nails were very pretty with high gloss, I thought they would look pretty cool matte, so added a coat of My Indie Polish My Perfect Matte for another look.  I can't decide which one I like better??!!

Then for something a little different, stamped another image from the same plate on top for some
double stamping.  Used FunkyFingers Gesso.   Like this look too!

Here's the other ladies day  mani's!

Deer in the Forest

Ok.  I have to admit I was a noob and did these nails because I thought our last Digit-al Dozen challenge was wood/copper, not wool/copper.  So this was a mani that I did in preparation of the challenge.  Then I needed some more mani inspiration, so googled 7 year anniversary gifts and it kept on saying wool/copper, etc. and when I checked back on our master list of event challenges, in fact it was wool.  Not wood.  To make matters worse, I had set the group FB calendar for the challenge and put wood/copper and if anyone else in the group followed that calendar heading, they might have done a wood mani too.  Thankfully, no one else did and apparently I was the only noob.

Not to let a mani go to waste, I'm going to share it now anyway!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a sponged gradient of Fancy Gloss Galaxy Orchid, Imperial and Iris.  Note to self:  in the future, check to see if you are using a thermal polish in your gradient.  I guess I was lucky that my hands are usually cold or the gradient could have turned out a while lot different!

Topped with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Stampaholic 7 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I thought it might look cool with a matte top coat so added a coat of Glisten & Glow matte.

Thanks for looking!

P.S.:  In the interest of full disclosure, my nails are a mess right now so I have edited out (as best I can, which isn't very good!) some ouchies on my cuticles.  Yes, they hurt as bad as they look!  I wanted to participate in the challenge (as I did these for DD challenge last week) and didn't have enough mani's to use for the challenge done in advance so had to do my nails as they are.  So sorry you have to look at them!  Just look at the nail art, not the hands lol!
