Happy Birthday, Turtlechick12!

Today is my nail pal, Turtlechick's birthday and I did these nails especially for her!  Hope you have a great day, Julie!  Julie is awesome; she is my US nail pal who gets polishes for me when shipping isn't possible to Canada; she has also overseen numerous nail plate group buys for not only me but probably hundreds of other gals, negotiating great deals for us stamping ladies, then working countless hours putting together the buys, receiving them and then reshipping the goods all over the world!  Thanks so much!

Started with a base of two coats of Great Lakes Lacquer Never Gonna Give You Up, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I was going for the deep sea look, so added a coat of I Love Nail Polish Gaia.

Added some sea foliage; used images from MoYou Sailor 08 and 10.  Used assortment of MdU polishes.

Added a few more images from UberChic Party Time (thumb), MoYou Tourist Collection-17 (ring and index) and the two MoYou Sailor plates.  In total, the MdU polishes used were 11, 13, 46, 52, 59 and 66.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Hope you have a fantastic day, Julie!

Digit-al Dozen Does 5th Birthday; Day 3

You may have seen a blog post or it mentioned on IG in August, that I turned the big 5-0; while I shared a few pix about the event, I didn't have time to share the nails that I was sporting for the occasion but I'm going to do so now as '50' has a '5' in it, right?  (And as seems the norm lately with Digit-al Dozen posts, I'm late, so sorry!). Here's what I came up with!

I knew I wanted to go with sparkly, fun, and colourful nails for the day and glitter is always fun!  The newly arrived Girly Bits Sequins & Satin Pants collex fit the bill; just painted heavy lines with them; sometimes, I overlapped, other times, I never. There was no rhyme or reason for this.

Added a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on top.

Stamped using an image from Creative Shop 38 using Funky Fingers Dark Knight.

Did Ms. Cindy slightly different but still used same collection of polishes and same stamping plate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Birthdays; August, 2017

It's Digit-al Dozen birthday challenge for the month of August!  This month, there are three of us celebrating birthdays; Lothwen of Manis & Makeovers, Sarah of 25 Sweetpeas and me!  This is the mani I did based on the chosen inspiration photo!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (no pix as have shown before). Stamped using images from MoYou Tropical Collection-01, MoYou Tropical Collection-14 and MoYou Mother Nature Collection-04 using MdU 73 and 78.

Added dotter flowers using Mdu 66 after trying to stamp them on as there are oodles of images with this floral design but the polish didn't stamp opaque enough, so decided to dot instead.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This is the pix that was used for mani inspiration!

Here's a couple pix from my birthday on August 25th!  The hubs couldn't source local pink flamingos so he decided to do the next best thing....little piggies on the lawn!  They were so cute!

My favourite for dessert; a cupcake cake from Sobey's that has both white and chocolate cupcakes!  The icing isn't sweet; it's light and fluffy and just right!  I buy them in the six pack all year long!   And aren't those butterflies so cool!

I had a wonderful birthday; there were so many surprises arranged by the hubs and my kids; it was awesome!  It was nice that we all got together for the day and enjoyed a music/dinner cruise along the Otonabee River that evening, then had dessert around a campfire that went well into the night!

Thank you to all who already wished me a Happy Birthday on FB and IG; and Sarah and Lothwen, I hope you had great birthday's as well!

Happy Birthday Nails!

What I've been wearing today!  I've had such a hectic day, its the last hour of the day until my birthday is over but hopefully this post will be up before the day is over!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls then top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

Did a saran wrap smoosh for accents using American Apparel Lazuli, Crescent Heights and American Denim.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I made a few stamper decals using MoYou Happy Birthday Collection-02, filling in with acrylic paints.

MoYou Happy Birthday Collection-02

Applied four of the decals.

Then stamped the thumb with the confetti from MoYou Christmas Collection-05 using MdU polishes in what I hoped was close to the acrylics that I used for the stamper decals.

MoYou Christmas Collection-05

Stamped in Happy Birthday on the thumb using an image from MoYou Happy Birthday-01 after shrinking the image.  But I had to do it sideways to get Birthday to fit as my nails aren't wide enough for the image even when shrunk.  Had I realized I was going to do have to stamp sideways, I would have placed the words separately to at least even out the words and not cut out half of the H.  Added 'me' using Nailways Back to Basics 123 ABC.

Added a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

It was looking a little bare so added a few random dots for filler and to make it more me!

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes via texts, messages, FB posts and IG comments!

Birthday Wishes!

Today I attended a 75th Birthday brunch; these were the nails I did for the occasion!

Started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls; while I initially planned on doing a pink, purple and white water marble for the base, I could not get the polishes to spread in the water so ended up doing an alcohol spray using Pipe Dream Polish Masquerades with CND Gold Chrome on top.  Shown with no top coat.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using Funky Fingers Dark Knight using Uber Chic 6-01 on all fingers except ring finger.  The accent numbers are Nailways Back to Basics 123ABC and FUN 4.

Hope you had a great weekend; thanks for looking!

Another Year Older

Today's mani.

Started with a base of Jade Holografico Delirio Rosa, two coats, no topcoat.

Took a few pix...even after I've had holos for a while now, I'm still fascinated by them.

This was the first time I've wore any of the Jade holographics and I must say, I was impressed!  Application went on like butter and the holo was magnificent even in artificial lighting!  If only the bottle was bigger....!

I was having a brain freeze as to what to actually stamp on my nails.....couldn't decide what  images to use nor what stamping polish but ultimately decided to keep it simple as I was going to a family bbq today.  Used fauxnad XL K (index, ring, pinky and thumb) and W204 for middle using FUN white stamping polish.

Another pix to highlight the holo a little better. Unfortunately, when you can really see the holo....you can't see the stamping as well.

Added a little filler.  The different size stars were from isolating single stars from an image on fauxnad K, as was the Happy Birthday on the ring finger (the image said Happy Birthday to You...I just polished and scraped the Happy Birthday portion and stamped it.  I need to look up which plate this was as I didn't jot it down for some reason!)  The random flowers are from SdP 77.  Even thought I'm holding a SV bottle, the topcoat I used was SH Diamond Strength Diamond Flash Fast Dry topcoat as it doesn't seem to dull the holo's as much as SV, which was a tip I had picked up from a nail board.

A pix this morning in the sunlight.

All in all, it was a good day.  Busy, but good.  My brother, who lives in Japan, just arrived yesterday and is here visiting for two weeks.  Today, my parents hosted a family bbq and it was nice to see all the relatives.  My bro brought me a few nail polishes from Japan, which I'm sure will be posted here some time.  My family will be spending a few more days with him, along with my parents, later in the week in cottage country and it will be good to visit with him a little longer before he heads back.

Hope you're having a great weekend...thanks for looking!
