Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father's Day!  These nails are an ode to my Dad as fishing is one of his favourite things to do.  I don't think he has gone fishing for a few years; however, I do know that it was a favourite thing to do when he was younger, particularly fishing trips with his dad and brothers.  

Started with a base of Essie Butler, Please, Sally Hansen Contempor-ary (on Sally Hansen I Blue That as it was really patchy and wouldn't give good coverage), and accent ring of Hearts & Promises Bird Box (which was very thin to cover as well; needed four (!) coats; LBOH Feb 2025).  

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.  I then waited about half a hours before doing anything with these nails as most of them had 3 or 4 coats, no including TC (all but the Essie).

Did a sponged gradient on the thumb with the Sally Hansen and OPI The Art To Warm Your Heart.  Stamped fishes on the index and pinky using Mr. Fox LB018 with a stamped gradient using Painted Polish Blanc Slate and MdU 91.

MoYou London Jaws 02

Shadow stamped words on the middle using Painted Polish Blanc Slate and MdU 11 (not very well though) using Moyra 143 June.  Using image from Candy Skull R025, reverse stamped it, then did a stamper decal for the beach using Orly You're Blushing and OPI Dockside Dreaming.  Then stamped image from Uprettego JR-399 for the fisherman, also stamping the thumb with the same image to depict the fisherman catching the fish.  Added sun from Chez Marine 003 using MdU 11, and clouds on ring from MoYou Jaws 02 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.  

Did a triple shadow stamp (still not very well) on the middle using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief from image from Moyra 143 June.  

 Added seagulls from What's Up Nails A019 and Chez Delaney Marine, as well as clouds from MoYou Jaws 02.  

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish. 

 Happy Father's Day to my husband and son as well!

Walking on Sunshine

Late to posting but these nails are for #Music Mani Monday, this time inspired by Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves.  A great summer song and appropriate for the summer weather we had all long weekend long!  A little smoke hazy at times from the wildfires up north, but it was a good weekend spent with the family, which was nice.

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Writing on the Walls with accent nails of Quo Latte Love, no topcoat. 

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

After the topcoat dried, did a sponged gradient on some nails using Morgan Taylor Let's Do A Makeover, Sally Hansen Catch Me if You Clam and Sinful Colors Power Moves.  I had to do some improv on the pinky but knew I'd be stamping over it so it didn't have to be perfect.

Did beach waves on the middle and index using Clear Jelly Stamper CjS-208 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate and MdU 91.  Ring finger is Uprettego JR-424, pinky is MdU ZZ Summer 2 and thumb is SugarBubbles SB 031 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.  

Added footsteps in the sand on middle and index using images from CjS-208 and What's Up Nails A019 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

I shrunk the image from SugarBubbles SB 031 to fit on my thumb.  Even shrinking it to the smallest size barely fit my small nails but at least it did fit!  Here's how much is shrunk; it really does make a big difference if you have small nails like me.

Nautical Nails

I went on vacation not too long ago and it has prompted me to post some themed nails including this one.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI Charge It To Their Room, no top coat.

Topped a couple nails with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Hold-back, no top coat.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Added waves with MdU 91 using an image from B. Loves Plates B. Mini Ahoy, Captain.

Layered stamping using Wistonia Absolutely Nautical (thumb, middle and ring), Chez Marin 001 (ring and pinky) using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

Added a few birds on the thumb from image from Lesly Marine 1 and What's Up Nails A019 on the pinky.

Sunshine!

Don't these just scream summer??!!  Fun and bright; they are a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Sally Hansen Wet My Thistle topped with Lush Lacquer Tropical Kisses, with accent of OPI Kiss Me, I'm Brazilian.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using What's Up Nails A019 (lines) and Lina 4 Seasons - Summer 02 (flowers).

Dotted floral centers using MdU 80.

Added a couple star shells with a custom mix stamping polish I blended using EdK Edwiges and Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Take Me To The Beach!

I pulled a bunch of summer themed plates and have been doing a lot of beach inspired mani's including this one.  Hopefully I don't get into a theme trap like I have been doing lately with a whole bunch of leaves in the fall, snowflakes in the winter, daisies in the spring...but I guess we'll see!  But just in case, be prepared to see lots of beach mani's like this one; here's what I came up with!

Started with a stamper smooshy base using Pahlish Cascades, China Glaze Capacity to See Beyond, Essie Style Cartel, Essie Viva Antigua! and FunkyFingers Gesso.

 Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from UberChic UC Beach Plates (thumb and middle), What's Up Nails A019 (index), SugarBubbles SB 051 (pinky) and CreativeShop 84 (ring) using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Shadow stamped with Painted Polish Deux 2.0 using same images.  Stamped some a little too tight, some a little too loose; one of these days I'll get it right!
