Neon Floral Nails!

These are one of my way back daisy mani's; this is from February 2020 and to be honest, I'm not sure why I haven't shared it yet.  The colours look like Halloween but I'm sharing them now as I could easily wear these in the heat of the summer!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, topped with Lilypad Lacquer Itty Bitty 4, no top coat.  I remember when these glitters came out; I bought them all.  Promptly wore this one and then none of them have been worn since.  And this was five years ago! I like them, just don't like glitter removal.

Stamped lines with image from Lina Born to Sail 01 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, then added flowers from Lina 4 Seasons-Spring 02 using MdU 80.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Dotted floral centers using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Decided I needed a few more flowers, so added them using same plate and colours on the lines, then topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Sailing Away!

I'm on a cruise right now, soaking up the sun, lounging by the pool, snorkeling and swimming in the ocean and enjoying all the buffets!  Cruise calories don't count!  Actually, the last few cruises I've been on, I actually lost weight!  I think from all the walking, getting in over 20,000 steps a day, eating all the fruits, etc.  Anyway, the next few posts are going to be fun in the sun and water mani's that I didn't do specifically for this vacation, but rather, random mani's here and there that I've done over the years and not year shared but are appropriate for the theme.  Thanks for looking!

Halloween Bonus Nails

I call these Halloween bonus nails as I did these nails mid summer for a weekend Halloween event, but didn't have any Halloween stamping plates or (what I would use for) Halloween polishes.  But I tried to make it work with what I had on hand and thinkthey turned out pretty cool!  They were a lot brighter than they appear here; however, the lighting washed them out a bit but hopefully you still get the idea of them.  Here's what I came up with!

Started with typical Halloween colours (to me, anyway!)  Morgan Taylor Ugh, As If (thumb), Painted Polish Midnight Mischief (index and pinky), and OPI Silicon Valley Girl.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped lines using Lina Born to Sail 01 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief, and shadow stamped stars from UberChic UC 28-02 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Blanc Slate.

Added a whole lot of dots for colour, interest and filler, using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief and Blanc Slate, MdU 11, 13 and 69.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

This is out of my wheelhouse but I liked how it turned out; I need to do nails like this more often!  It was a nice, bright mani during the summer and subed for Halloween nails too in a pinch!

More Flowers!

Another day, another floral mani!

Started with a base of BKind Sauble Beach, two coats, no top coat.  (Fun fact:  I was about 10 kms from Sauble Beach when I did my nails with this polish!)  I love this colour; so much so that I wore it two mani's in a row.  BUT, you would never know that the same polish was used as they look so different.  I got this at Winners and feel I need a backup bottle as I love it so!

Topped accent nails with KBShimmer Chill Out (reflective).  Another polish that I use so often and feel I need a backup bottle of it too!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina Born to Sail 01 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate, no top coat.

CjS-238

Stamped using CjS-238 using MdU 89 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate, and both polish outlines are MdU 73.  The stamping didn't show up that well so I had to stamp the base 3 and 4 times to make it opaque enough over the base and stamping so the stamping isn't perfect but all in all, I was happy how it turned out.

Added some dots to the floral centers using the same floral base polishes.

Topped with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Thinking of Maui

It's extremely sad to see the devastation that is being shown in the media from the fires in Maui.  I've never been there but it has always been on my bucketlist and hopefully, one day, I'll make it there in my travels.  In the meanwhile, these tropical nails will be the closest I'll be to there in some time.  My condolences to those lost loved ones or have injured family and my thoughts are with those who were impacted by the fires.

Started with a base of Nubar Dusk Til Dawn and Orly Connect the Dots, two coats each.

Topped with Orly with Quo Beauty Xtreme FX Hot & Spicy.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped lines using Lina Born to Sail 01 using MdU 72 and Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Added flowers from UberChic Japanese Motif using MdU 72.

Shadow stamped (not very well!) the same image using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Added dots using Nubar Dusk Til Dawn.

Did smaller dots in floral centers using MdU 72.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Spring Is Right Around The Corner....Right??

We've had some warmer weather and sunny days...only to be plunged into deep freeze a few days later.  That is typical of spring here in Canada but thoe warm, sunny days are a taste of what is to come...at some point, anyway.  Here's to spring; whenever it arrives!

Stared with a base of Stella Chroma Recreaional Chemistry, two coats with a bit extra at the tips.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Lina Born to Sail 01 using Painted Polish Blanc Slate for stripes and Lina 4 Seasons Spring 02 with Painted Polish Stamped in Rose.

Topped with KBShimmeer Clearly on Top.

Added dots for floral centers using Painted Polish Blanc Slate.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Pumpkin Faces!

I did these nails over the weekend; they might look familiar as I've done something very similar here.  (OMG was it really 4 years ago??!??!!)  If you check out the older post, you will see that these nails are inspired from a hand towel I had bought and when I put it up last weekend, it inspired me to do them again.  Here's what I came up with!

Started out with a base of two coats of LynBDesigns Ivy.  Note:  I've been trying different peel off base coats so that I can start to wear all those glitter bombs that I have from years ago!  But they either are too hard to get off or pop off too easy as in the case with some water base peel offs or application and stay issues as in the case of some latex ones.  Plus I find they don't last that long; they get clumpy etc.  So I've been trying out different peel off bases and if you have eagle eyes, you might have noticed some latex around the edges on some nails, etc.  So in this case, I was using Hit The Bottle Keepin It Peel and, it takes a long time to dry, so I discovered.  Longer than I expected anyway.  So I have a couple lumpy fingers from where it kinda clumped up and went gummy with the polish.  By no means does this have anything to do with the LynBDesign base polish to be clear.

Stamped using Painted Polish Blanc Slate using image from Lina Born to Sail 01.

Added faces using image from Delaney Halloween A001 using Painted Polish Midnight Mischief.

Finished with a coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

If you are interested in the wear test of the Hit the Bottle Keepin It Peel, well, here are my comments.  When I applied it, I did one coat on nails that had been wiped with pure acetone (as I do keep a bottle with additive close by as well).  I applied one coat.  It took quite a while (IMHO) to dry.  I didn't keep track minute wise but I thought I waited 3-4 minutes and it still was tacky enough to create gummy nails on a couple of them (fyi, I painted the thumb and index first and they were dry; went I went to paint the middle, it was gummy still).  The very last picture was taken at 1:24 am on Saturday, October 26, 2019.  I went to bed, slept, got up and showered and left to do groceries at around 1:30 pm.  When I finished doing the groceries, I sat in my car at 2:54 pm and took this pix; my right hand had lost 3 peelies.

I took this pix at 3:13 pm while I was putting the groceries away, another casualty.  The final one popped off one minute later.  My left hand was still all intact for about another hour when I noticed one had popped off at which time I removed the last 4. They came off easily which was good news but reallyyyy easy so I doubt they would have stayed on much longer.  So IMHO these didn't adhere that well and popped off too far too easily.  Or grocery shopping and putting away groceries are too strenuous activities, I'm not sure.  Seeing how I bought two bottles of Hit the Bottle Keepin It Peel, I'm doing to continue to use it and see if I have better results and really hope I do.
