Hello Summer!...I Mean Good-bye Summer!

You know you're behind with your blog posts when you're posting your Hello Summer nails the day before fall officially arrives, not to mention you didn't even get around to sharing your Hello Spring nails at all!  I guess there is always next year!  I did these nails way back in June 2018 right after Indie Expo Canada; in fact the base polish was bought at IEC 2018 and it was the first polish I used right after the show.  Too many other things to share but there's no time like the present as the saying goes!  Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Paint It Pretty Polish Indigo Rises, two coats.  Unfortunately, this mani shows my nails pretty much at their worst right after IEC; if you have read my posts you will know that I had been dealing with a wonky middle finger for months and how the skin all around it peeled, etc.  Well, this is one of the mani's where the skin was the worst.  I know it looks like hangnail city; it wasn't, it was peely skin and trying to remove it and it being sore and thin.  A lot of the pix, I tried to strategically hold my nails just so to try to diminish it, but sometimes, like here, I wasn't that successful.

Stamped using images from Marianne Nails Professional n.16 (thumb and index) and Lina 4 Seasons-Summer 01 (ring, middle and pinky) using MdU 1, 49 and 68.

My favourite nail; even when I shrunk the image, it still barely fit!

I think this was a great send off to summer; tomorrow, I'm share nails to welcome the arrival of fall!

Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Easing Into Fall Nails

I was wearing this mani in the heat of the summer as sometimes you just want to wear these pretty  fugly unique colours even though they may be more appropriate for fall!  I didn't share them but as we are getting closer to fall, I thought now would be as good as any time so here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of three coats of BOW Trumped Up, no top coat.  I love this mustard colour with the addition of the flakies and shimmer.  So pretty but unique...and perfect to ease into fall!

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Creative Shop 128 with accent of Creative Shop 130 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight.

Digit-al Dozen Does Recreate Your First Blog Post; Day 5

Here's my day 5 mani where I have done another marble mani using some shadow stamping.  I really love the look of marble nails, I don't know why I don't do these more often!  I guess too many other images and designs that I want to use more often!  Anyway, it's been fun recreating mani's; I had to go through blog posts and it was like going down memory lane that's for sure!  Here's what I came up with!

These are my inspiration nails from my post back here on September 21, 2015.

I was a lazy blogger the night I did these nails as my notes say 'Assortment of Purples'.  I did take this pix however.

Did a stamper smooshy base using the colours above.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using an image from Lesly LS-35 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

I thought that was the end of the manis which is why I topped with top coat but decided to shadow stamp using same image from LS 35 using FunkyFingers Dark Knight. I didn't double stamp that well but it's close enough to add interest anyway!

Hopefully you have enjoyed this weeks mani's!  Here's the other ladies day 5 nails!

Digit-al Dozen Does Recreate Your First Blog Posts; Day 4

Here's my day 4 mani along with the photo used as inspiration; I was doing this from memory and thought that the stamped image was closer than it actually was but that's OK; these challenges are up to our own interpretation (thankfully!).  These are another two mani's that I can't say which one I like better; I think they both are OK and I would gladly wear either of them any day!  Anyway, here's what I came up with!

This is the pix of the nails I used as inspiration from my post here on July 21, 2015.

Started out with a base of two coats each of Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Hydro Electric and Carry On Blue.

Applied Sally Hansen Luxe Lace Crochet on index and pinky; had to do some glitter fishing and placement as well.

Did a sponged gradient using Sally Hansen Miracle Gels in Carry On Blue, Hydro Electric and Beatnik.

Applied KBShimmer Clearly on top.

Stamped over gradient using image from Dixie Plates DP10 using FunkyFingers Gesso, then finished those nails with a final coat of KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Digit-al Dozen Does Recreate Your First Blog Posts; Day 3

I'm going to take some creative liberties and share these nails based upon nails that I did here back on July 19, 2016 (but the mani had been in archives for a year so it actually dates back to 2015) versus one of my very first blog posts.  I love how this turned out and I've been topping all the mani's with holographic glitter topcoat since!  Here's what I came up with!

Here's my inspiration mani.  Hmm, I'm not sure which one I like better; I think they both look pretty cool! While these nails are from 2015, I still do those metal stud accent nails on a fairly regular basis; it never goes out of style to me!  But I rarely wear my nails this long now; they don't even look like my nails to me!

Started with a base of Orly TX and Orly Frolic, then did a sponged gradient on Orly Frolic using Orly TX. Top coated with Seche Diamond Dust.  Sorry for wonky middle finger; it is so awkward in pix for months now but it is at the homestretch of growing out!

Stamped with an image from UberChic UC 14-02 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Recreate Your First Blog Posts; Day 2

Here's an updated version of a mani I did back here on June 21, 2010; my fourth ever blog post.   The base was a hot pink Konad regular polish but I wanted to mix it up a little with a hot pink flakies and then some other neon flakies; this is what I came up with this!

This is the picture I used as inspiration.  I love that hot pink!  It's Konad regular polish Neon Pink.  I don't think I've ever wore it again sadly.  Too many polishes, not enough time!

One a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, I did a squishy stamper base used four Anchor & Heart Lacquer neon flakies:  Fine-Apple, Partners In Lime, Very A-Peeling and One In a Melon.  The brightness of the neons diminished a bit when applied like this but they are certainly bright when applied on their own.  Maybe a few more smooshies, they might have been brighter like the ring finger.  I still think these look tutti-fruity; perfect for the return of summer weather we are having today!

Stamped using Konad m.78 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

Digit-al Dozen Does Recreating Your First Blog Posts; Day 1

It's Digit-al Dozen week; this month, we are recreating our first blog posts!  I should have shared this on day 2 as this mani is inspired by the nails I posted on my second ever blog post back here on June 7, 2010; the inspiration pix is below!  But unfortunately I don't have any mani's done in advance and did this one quickly last night so I'd have something to share today.  Here's what I came up with!

This is my inspiration nails!  While it is scary to look at them, it is nice to see how far I've come doing my nails, taking better pictures, etc.  I still don't think my pix are the best and am working still on my lighting, etc etc but they are an improvement anyway!  This is OPI What The Cattitude stamped with an image from Konad m64; I couldn't find the OPI even although I know I have it someplace.

But I thought I would update the mani a bit so did a sponged gradient using OPI The I's Have It, Fearlessly Alice and My Pal Joey.  Added a coat of Nfu Oh GS04.  I didn't take pix of the gradient alone as I was having issues with index nail; the polish kept on sticking to the sponge and taking off polish versus putting it on; I did the nail twice and did it both times and unfortunately, it wasn't that picture worthy.  I left it as is with the hope that the stamping would cover it!

Stamped using same image from Konad m.64 using FunkyFingers Gesso.

Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.
