Digit-al Dozen Does Texture; Day 1

Welcome back to Digit-al Dozen week; this month's challenge is texture! I did this mani a few weeks ago and have been chomping on the bit waiting to share it......I think it is one of my coolest mani's ever....but if history is any indicator, what I find cool, no one else does and what I think is meh, people love!  I guess we'll see!

Started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and topped with SV (no pix as have shown before).  Added Zoya Godiva at tips for sand.

Added images from Infinity 18 using FUN black stamping polish.

Using Mundo de Unas 22 (brown) and 37 (green), added palm tree from Infinity 18.

Added additional images from Infinity 33 (ring and middle).

A quick look at plates used; here's Infinity 18**.

Infinity 33**.

Using the LeadLight technique, filled in images using assortment of jelly polishes.  Polishes used were L'Oreal Jolly Lolly, L'Oreal Miss Pixie, OPI I'm Never Amberrassed, OPI I Can Teal You Like Me, New York Summer Hot Sky Blue, New York Summer Hot Green and American Apparel Redondo Beach.  I also added a few birds; on the thumb, they are stamped from Infinity 33; on the middle, I hand drew it in.

Filled in the sky using a brush and more polishing.  The skin tone is The Kit Nude Jude.

Just before adding topcoat, I added a few more layers of polishes on the sky and water to give a darker hue; not sure how noticeable it is in the pix!  For top coating, I only top coated all but the texture polish and left it all gritty.

So what do you or meh?

Here's the other ladies Day 1 texture mani's.....the group also has welcomed a few new members, so be sure to check them out!

Thanks for looking!

  1. Tres cool! This is the most adorable mani. I love it. I must have those stamping plates. I've seen that little owl on plate 18 before and I love the little Peter Pan images I saw on the other plate too. This is the perfect mani for summer. I love how you top coated the water and sky but left the sand, sandy.

  2. omg! that's a masterpiece!:)

  3. The concept and execution are totally, epicly beyond awesome!

  4. Oh - this is truly a lovely day at the beach!!

  5. Wow! That's a story on your nails *_* a story of a day at the beach.lovely glowing colours with the glazing technique :-)

  6. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! I can't believe everything you do with your stamping plates! :D

  7. This is so awesome! You did an amazing job!

  8. Now this is a work of art! I love your step by steps, it really shows the complexity of the mani & how it all comes together! Your certainly a creative stamper :)

  9. This is AMAZING and SO COOL! I love that it looks like a watercolor with all of the jelly polishes :)

  10. I love all your work! And you're Canadian which makes me more of a fan girl cause so am I! I'm wondering if you remember aprox. how much duty/import fees were to get Mundo de Unas stamping polishes/plates shipped to you in Canada. That 'import duty fee extra' clause always scares me because I've been hit with some crazy import fees in the past when I wasn't expecting it! I have about 20 MDU stamping polishes in my cart and I'm basically waiting on your answer to decide whether or not I can afford this right now :D Thanks so much lady!!

    1. I've never been charged customs/duty for any Mundo de Unas delivery I've had, not even large ones. Can't say it won't happen, but I've ordered a few times now and never had an issue.

  11. Its your fold I had to buy these plates when I saw this mani. Gonna copy it soon love it
